Job summary

PwC Acceleration Center India is seeking a Linux Admin - Associate to manage and optimize Linux-based infrastructure, spanning on‑premise and cloud, with Azure and AWS. You’ll work with cross‑functional teams to drive automation, ensure security, and optimize performance for client projects in a dynamic Cloud Engineering, Data & Analytics practice.

The role involves monitoring, patching, backups, virtualization, and container platforms like Docker/Kubernetes, plus LDAP/AD integration and 24/7

Qualifications

• At least a Bachelor's degree.
• Minimum 2 years of Linux OS experience (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE).
• Proficiency in English (oral and written).

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain Linux infrastructure on‑premise or cloud (Azure & AWS).
• Monitor system performance and analyze logs to troubleshoot CPU/memory/storage/network issues.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on infrastructure projects and migrations.
• Automate routine tasks using shell scripting, Python, or configuration tools (Ansible/Puppet/Chef).
• Manage user accounts, groups, permissions, and SSH access per security policies.
• Perform patching, kernel upgrades, and software installations with native package managers (YUM/APT/Zypper).
• Design, test backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery procedures.
• Deploy and manage virtualization/container platforms (KVM, VMware, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Integrate Linux servers with LDAP/Active Directory.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and 24/7 incident response.
• Stay current with Linux tech, security practices, and industry standards.
• Maintain detailed configurations, runbooks, and change records.

As a Linux Admin - Associate - MS CEDA - Operate, you will be at the forefront of managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure and services to facilitate seamless operations and availability for clients. You will focus on designing and implementing robust IT systems that support business operations, confirming the smooth functioning of networks, servers, and data centers. In this role at PwC Acceleration Center India, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing Linux-based infrastructure, whether on-premise or in the cloud. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive automation and best practices across the environment. Your role will involve monitoring, troubleshooting, and implementing industry-leading practices for cloud-based systems, while also confirming the availability, security, and performance of all Linux servers. Responsibilities

• Building, maintaining, and optimizing Linux-based infrastructure on-premise or in the cloud using platforms like Azure and AWS
• Monitoring system performance and analyzing logs to troubleshoot issues related to CPU, memory, storage, and network
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure projects and migrations
• Automating routine tasks and deployments using shell scripting, Python, or configuration-management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
• Managing user accounts, groups, permissions, and SSH access in accordance with security policies
• Performing patch management, kernel upgrades, and software installations using native package managers like YUM, APT, and Zypper
• Designing, implementing, and testing backup, recovery, and disaster-recovery procedures
• Deploying and managing virtualization and containerization platforms such as KVM, VMware, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Integrating Linux servers with directory services like LDAP and Active Directory
• Participating in on-call rotations and responding to incidents in a 24/ 7 support model
• Staying current with emerging Linux technologies, security practices, and industry standards
• Maintaining detailed documentation of configurations, change records, and operational runbooks

What You Must Have

• At least a Bachelor's degree
• At least 2 years of experience in Linux operating systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE)
• Oral and written proficiency in English required

What Sets You Apart

• Holding Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC)
• Familiarity with logging and monitoring stacks like ELK, Prometheus/Grafana, Nagios
• Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance requirements such as CIS Benchmarks, NIST, PCI DSS
• Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines including Jenkins, GitLab CI, Terraform
• Utilizing cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, Google Cloud for hybrid-cloud architectures
• Engaging in cloud infrastructure optimization and cloud migration strategies
