Job summary

Tata Electronics is seeking a Line Quality Technician to oversee in‑process and end‑of‑line QC across IC packaging, soldering, and singulation stages. You will perform inspections, identify non‑conformances, and support corrective actions in real time to ensure product quality.

The role requires hands‑on QC tool experience and collaboration with cross‑functional teams to drive continuous improvement. A background in semiconductor manufacturing is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Hands‑on experience with quality control tools (SPC, FMEA, MSA, 8D, 7QC tools).
• Minimum 3 years of relevant semiconductor industry experience, with exposure to plasma cleaning, molding, laser marking, singulation, plating and AOI.

Responsibilities

• Perform in‑process and end‑of‑line quality control inspections at various stages of semiconductor packaging production.
• Execute inspections to identify defects and deviations from defined quality requirements.
• Follow established QC procedures to detect non‑conformances.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to address issues promptly.
• Conduct statistical and root cause analyses to identify defect trends and improvement opportunities.
• Monitor line processes for compliance with standards and customer specifications.
• Maintain quality documentation including inspection results and control records.
• Provide real‑time feedback to production teams and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct line audits to verify adherence to QC protocols and procedures.
• Train production personnel on QC practices and inspection standards.
• Support integration of QC controls into new product or package introductions.

• Experience performing Laser marking FAI, package dimension measurement, wettability checks, and AOI defect assessment.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.
• Familiarity with statistical tools such as JMP or Minitab.
• In‑depth knowledge of IC packaging and backend processes.
