Job summary

Saint Anselm College Geisel Library seeks multiple part-time Circulation Desk Supervisors to join their team. Shifts are available on Saturday and Sunday evenings during Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 with occasional shifts as needed.

The Circulation Supervisor oversees desk operations, assists library users, and supervises student workers, ensuring policy adherence and safety. The role includes completing daily shift reports and closing the library each evening, with potential for additional hours

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 2 years of college plus 1–2 years of relevant experience, or the equivalent combination of education, experience, and maturity.
• Excellent attendance and dependable performance.
• Ability to supervise student workers and work with college students.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all Circulation Desk operations during assigned hours.
• Assist library users (students, faculty, staff, guests) with Circulation Desk needs.
• Supervise Circulation Desk student-assistants.
• Monitor building conditions and security and ensure adherence to Circulation policies.
• Work on special projects and complete daily shift reports.
• Close the library each evening and ready the building for the next day.
• Additional hours may be possible throughout the year.

Geisel Library At Saint Anselm College, a Private Liberal Arts College In The Benedictine Catholic Tradition, Seeks Multiple Part-time Circulation Desk Supervisors To Join Their Team.

Currently Shifts Are Available On Saturday And Sunday Evenings As Below During The Fall 2026 And Spring 2027 Semesters With The Occasional Option Of Other Shifts As Needed

Saturday 6:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Sunday 6:00 pm - 12:00 am

Job Duties

The Circulation Supervisor is responsible for supervising all Circulation Desk operations during assigned hours. This person performs a variety of duties including: assisting library users (students, faculty, staff, guests) with a variety of Circulation Desk needs; supervising Circulation Desk student-assistants; monitoring building conditions and security; maintaining adherence to Circulation policies; working on special projects as assigned; and completing daily shift reports, and closing the library each evening and readying the building for use the next day. Additional hours may be possible throughout the year.

• Reliability in performing daily tasks/duties as assigned
• Ability to consider occasional assistance with coverage of other shifts (optional)
• Ability to lift 30 lbs.

Required Experience

Associate’s degree or 2 years of college plus 1 – 2 years of relevant experience, or the equivalent combination of education, experience, and maturity.

Desired Experience

• Some supervisory experience
• Library Circulation Desk experience
• Experience working with automated library computer systems and/or contemporary interfaces.
