Job summary

Knowledge Park invites applications for the Librarian position at SVKMs College of Pharmacy, Shirpur. The candidate should hold a Ph.D. in Library Science, Information Science, or Documentation, or a Master's degree with NET/ SLET/ SET where applicable.

The role includes developing and managing the library, cataloging, access to digital resources, and coordinating with faculty to meet resource needs, with responsibilities spanning orientation, records management, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Library science / Information Science / Documentation is required as the top qualification.
• Master's degree in a relevant discipline with NET/ SLET/ SET is an alternate path.
• In some master's programs, NET/SLET/SET may not be required, depending on the discipline.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the library collection, including books, journals, and e-resources.
• Classify, catalog, and manage library materials efficiently.
• Maintain and update accession register regularly and properly
• Assist students and faculty in accessing academic resources.
• Implement and manage library management systems and digital databases.
• Plan and conduct orientation programs for new students regarding library usage.
• Ensure proper issuance and return of books and maintain records.
• Stay updated with new publications and recommend acquisitions.
• Enforce library rules and maintain a conducive learning environment.
• Coordinate with faculty to ensure academic resource needs are met.
• Prepare library reports and ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements.
• Any other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Registrar, Dean/Vice- Chancellor/Management.

Master s degree in relevant discipline from an accredited University along with National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) / University Grants Commission (UGC) Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) or Similar test accredited by the University Grant Commission (UGC) like State Level Eligibility (SLET), State Eligibility (SET)
• 3. National Eligibility Test (NET), State level Eligibility (SLET), State Eligibility (SET) shall also not be required for such master s programme in disciplines of which National Eligibility Test (NET), State Eligibility (SET) is not conducted.
