Job summary

Vahan.ai, a YC-backed AI-powered hiring marketplace in India, invites a final-year LL.B. student or recent graduate to join the Legal & Compliance function as a Legal Intern and work on real, high-stakes matters from day one.

You will review contracts (NDAs, MSAs, service and vendor agreements), draft amendments, maintain trackers, and coordinate e-signatures. You will also perform legal research, support compliance programs, corporate documentation, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Final-year LL.B. student or recent law graduate.
• Solid grounding in Contract, Corporate, and Commercial Law.
• Strong legal research and drafting skills.
• Sharp analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Prior legal/compliance internship is a plus.
• Ability to juggle multiple assignments while maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Review and red-flag commercial agreements, including NDAs, MSAs, service and employment contracts.
• Draft agreements, amendments, notices, and legal correspondence.
• Maintain contract trackers and agreement repositories.

We're looking for a final-year law student or recent LL.B. graduate to join us as a Legal Intern, working closely with our Legal & Compliance function on real, high-stakes work from day one — not just research and photocopying.

What You'll Do

Contract Management

• Review and red-flag commercial agreements — NDAs, MSAs, service agreements, vendor and partnership contracts, employment agreements, and addendums
• Draft agreements, amendments, notices, and legal/commercial correspondence
• Maintain contract trackers and agreement repositories
• Coordinate execution through e-signature platforms

Legal Research

• Research applicable laws, regulations, and judicial precedents
• Prepare legal notes, summaries, and opinion briefs
• Help interpret contractual clauses and regulatory requirements
• Support legal query resolution for business teams

Compliance

• Track statutory and regulatory compliance requirements
• Maintain compliance calendars and trackers
• Support internal compliance reporting and audit/due-diligence documentation

Corporate Secretarial Support

• Assist with statutory records and corporate documentation
• Support board resolutions and corporate approvals
• Maintain litigation trackers
• Coordinate with external counsel
• Organize notices, pleadings, and case documentation

Business Support

• Partner with Finance, HR, Ops, Sales, and Procurement on legal and compliance matters
• Support vendor onboarding and legal due diligence
• Help draft internal policies and SOPs

What We're Looking For

• Final-year LL.B. student (3-year or 5-year course) or recent law graduate
• Solid grounding in Contract, Corporate, and Commercial Law
• Strong legal research and drafting skills
• Sharp analytical thinking and attention to detail
• Comfortable with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Prior legal/compliance internship experience is a plus
• Ability to juggle multiple assignments while maintaining confidentiality
