Job summary

Godrej Agrovet Ltd is seeking a legal professional to handle litigation, contract management, and advisory activities for the business in Pune district. The role involves coordinating with external lawyers, pursuing recoveries, and ensuring policy compliance across regional sales and finance teams.

The candidate will manage court proceedings under NI Act and civil suits, liaise with police and court staff, and maintain robust MIS and data reporting using MS Excel and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

• Experience handling litigation and legal support for business operations.
• Familiarity with NI Act filings, civil suits, and winding up petitions.
• Ability to coordinate with external lawyers and present cases before courts.
• Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills for MIS reporting.

Responsibilities

• Handling Litigation: filing complaints u/s 138 NI Act, civil suits, winding up petitions.
• Recovery of Outstanding Amount: pursue court cases, travel up to ~15 days/month.
• Contract Management and Advisory: draft, review and vet contracts; manage lifecycle; advise on risk.
• Liaisoning: coordinate with police for summons, warrants; work with court staff.
• MIS and Data Management: prepare timely MIS, data collation and presentation.
• Providing legal support to business: coordinate with sales and finance to ensure policy compliance.

Job description

1. Handling Litigation

a. Facilitating filing of Complaints u/s 138 of NI Act, Civil Suits, Winding up Petitions for recovery of outstating amount.

b. Coordinating with Lawyers to facilitate smooth presentation of Companys case before the Court

2. Recovery of Outstanding Amount

a. Recovery of Outstanding from defaulting parties through Personal Visits, follow up and legal notices. Candidate must be willing to travel extensively. Approx. 15 days in a month

b. Recovery of Outstanding through pursuing Court Cases primarily filed under Negotiable Instruments Act and Civil Suits

c. Recovery through striking Legal Settlements by way of negotiations and follow up

3. Contract Management and Advisory

a. Drafting, reviewing and vetting of contracts

b. Managing the entire Contract Lifecycle

c. Advising the business on risk mitigation

4. Liasoning

a. Liasoning with Police for ensuring successful execution of Summons, Bailable Warrants and Non-Bailable Warrants against defaulting parties.

b. Liasoning with Court Staff for ensuring cooperation in management of numerous litigations before court

5. MIS and Data Management

a. Prepare timely MIS and reports for the management

b. Collation and presentation of data

c. Candidate must be thorough in MS Excel and Power Point

6. Providing legal support to business

a. Coordinating with regional sales and finance team to ensure companies policies are complied with.

b. Providing all the legal support to business as and when required
