Job summary

InMobi Advertising is seeking a qualified lawyer to join its legal team in Bengaluru. The role focuses on drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial and employment-related agreements, with a strong emphasis on compliance and risk management across APAC and global operations.

The candidate should have 4–7 years of experience, experience with SaaS or tech sectors preferred, and be adept at coordinating with internal stakeholders and external counsels to ensure timely closure of deals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Laws with Indian qualification.
• 4–7 years of professional experience in legal roles.
• Experience supporting engineering, IT, and SaaS businesses is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drafting and reviewing a wide array of legal and commercial agreements, including negotiations and closure.
• Coordinate with external legal counsels and internal teams for end-to-end deal closure.
• Provide guidance on statutory compliance and manage disputes, including drafting/responding to notices.
• Develop, onboard, and administer contract-related systems and processes to ensure regulatory alignment.
• Lead contracts-related process improvements and template/tool development for various agreement types.
• Offer risk mitigation advisories and compliance support to cross-functional teams, including security and privacy.

What you will be doing?

• Drafting and reviewing a wide array of legal and commercial agreements, encompassing negotiation and ensuring comprehensive closure of such agreements.
• Coordinating closely with external legal counsels, advisors, and consultants to oversee the intricacies of commercial transactions and provide advisories, while also liaising with internal teams to ensure seamless end-to-end closure.
• Offering informed guidance to internal stakeholders on general statutory compliances and effectively managing disputes, which may entail drafting and/or responding to legal notices.
• Playing a pivotal role in the development, onboarding, implementation, and administration of systems and processes aimed at ensuring that contracts executed with employees, business partners, sourcing vendors, and contractors align with legal requirements and adhere to InMobi policy standards.
• Taking lead in spearheading changes in contracts-related processes, including the development of templates and tools tailored to a diverse range of agreements such as office leases, sourcing agreements, consulting agreements, publisher agreements, advertiser agreements, data partnerships, agency agreements, marketing agreements, and vendor agreements.
• Providing assistance with general legal and risk mitigation advisories, as well as compliance activities, to multifunctional teams across various domains including security, government compliance, finance, privacy, and regulatory affairs.

What do we expect?

• Qualified law graduate from India, with approximately 4-7 years of professional experience.
• Preference for candidates with a diverse background, including both in-house and law firm experience.
• Prior experience providing legal support to engineering, IT, and internet-based organizations, especially in ad-tech or tech sectors, would be preferred.
• Preference for candidates familiar with SaaS contracts, commercial and employment laws, and practices at a global level, particularly in the APAC region.
• Demonstrated commitment to ethics, with a strong emphasis on personal integrity and impeccable professional conduct.
• Proficient communication skills, coupled with the ability to handle matters independently and instill confidence in teams, executive management, and peers.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams and a propensity to challenge the status quo, seeking to develop innovative solutions to address concerns.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality legal services efficiently in a corporate environment.
