Barclays Noida is seeking a Legal Matter Controller to support day-to-day processing, review, reporting, and issue resolution within the Legal Procurement Operations function. The role involves coordinating with legal users, managing PO requests in ProcessUnity, and driving portfolio utilization to exceed payment-on-time targets.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, and contribute to projects aimed at strengthening controls and efficiency

Qualifications

  • Graduate with procurement knowledge and understanding of P2P cycle.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to consider wider objectives.
  • Experience facing customers/clients in current role; ability to communicate clearly.
  • Solid understanding of regulatory requirements, risk management frameworks and internal Barclays policies.

Responsibilities

  • Procure to Pay support including PO requests, amendments and closures for legal users.
  • Manage matter portfolio updates and drive utilization to meet Legal targets.
  • Provide MI and data support for Monthly Service Reviews and Financial Accountability materials.
  • Contribute to transformation projects for Legal Procurement Operations in line with COO priorities.
  • Develop and implement operational procedures to mitigate risks and maintain efficiency.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on operational performance for senior stakeholders.
  • Identify industry trends and opportunities to apply best practices in banking operations.

Key Accountabilities

Procure to Pay support: Facilitating vendor availabilities on ProcessUnity on behalf of the legal users, validations of Purchase Order requests received in the Legal system (against the Business controls), Processing amendments and closures on behalf of legal users (where applicable) Matter Management: Keeping the legal users updated by sending regular portfolio updates, driving the overall utilization of the portfolios as per Legal targets, assisting legal users with queries, along with delivering sustainable efforts towards ensuring Legal is exceeding the Payment on Time expectations for invoices, simultaneously working with lawyers on the reduction of aged debt for the bank. Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting : Providing a high touch assistance along with the required MI and data support to legal users and Legal Business Management as and when needed (including Monthly Service Reviews/ Financial Accountability materials etc). Change & Transformation – Contributing towards the key projects / transformation opportunities for Legal Procurement Operations, in alignment with the COO Priorities.

To be a successful " Legal Matter Controller", you should have the below as Mandatory requirements:
  • Graduate
  • Procurement Industry experience / Knowledge of Procurement (P2P) cycle and operations
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to consider wider objectives
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel & PowerPoint
  • Facing customers / clients in their current role
  • Strong Understanding of regulatory requirements, Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.

Purpose of the role

To support business areas with day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution.

Accountabilities
  • Support various business areas with day-to-day initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading, and issue resolution.
  • Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate operational processes.
  • Identification of areas for improvement and providing recommendations in operational processes.
  • Development and implementation of operational procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Development of reports and presentations on operational performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
