Job summary

Nutreco India is seeking a Legal and E&C Counsel to manage legal risks and the E&C program for Skretting India, Trouw Nutrition India and Eruvaka, reporting to the BU Lead Counsel Asia.

Based in Hyderabad, you will draft and negotiate contracts, develop policies, provide training, ensure compliance, and coordinate with outside counsel while upholding Nutreco’s values.

Qualifications

• Law degree from a reputable university.
• India licensed lawyer or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years’ post-qualified experience, ideally with a major law firm and/or within the legal or compliance function of a multinational company.
• Strong knowledge of contract law, competition law and corporate law.
• Knowledge of data protection or feed law is an advantage.
• Strong affinity with E&C, with willingness to further develop expertise in this area. Experience as an E&C Officer is an advantage.
• Good written and oral communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex matters clearly, concisely and persuasively to diverse stakeholders.
• Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts with strong attention to risk management, and contribute to the maintenance of the contract management system.
• Contribute to the development, monitoring and implementation of Legal and E&C policies, procedures and templates.
• Deliver training on Legal and E&C topics.
• Monitor compliance with E&C policies.
• Manage outside counsel when necessary.
• Maintain structured reporting to the BU Asia Lead Counsel, demonstrating transparency and consistency in monitoring compliance with laws, regulations and Nutreco’s policies.
• Participate in the management team of the General Manager of the Indian companies (upon request).

Headquartered in Amersfoort and active in more than 30 countries, Nutreco is supported by a diverse Legal and Ethics & Compliance (E&C) team of around twenty professionals who manage our legal risks and the E&C program and protect Nutrecos reputation.

The Legal and E&C team includes eight BU Lead Counsels who report to the Global Director Legal and E&C and the Global Director Corporate Legal and M&A, and a number Counsels located in different jurisdictions reporting into the BU Counsels. This position will report to the BU Lead Counsel Asia, who is based in Bangkok (Thailand).

This position is based in Hyderabad (India). As Legal and E&C Counsel for our operating companies in India, you will manage the Legal risks and the E&C program for Skretting India, Trouw Nutrition India and Eruvaka, and in coordination with the BU Counsel Asia be involved in investigations concerning these companies.
