Job summary

Lever, Inc. seeks a senior M&A and Corporate Development leader for the NCR region. You will independently lead deal origination, market mapping, and build a robust acquisition pipeline aligned with strategic priorities.

The candidate should have 9–15 years in M&A or related fields within BFSI, plus strong stakeholder management. You will drive due diligence, negotiations, and transaction execution from origination to closure. Experience across banking, NBFCs, insurance, and fintech is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead M&A origination across BFSI segments and identify opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain a robust acquisition pipeline across banking, NBFCs, insurance, fintech, wealth management, asset management, lending, payments.
  • Conduct market and industry mapping to identify sub-sectors and targets.
  • Originate and evaluate potential transactions through market research and networks.
  • Build and maintain relationships with promoters, CXOs, investment bankers, PE investors and other stakeholders.
  • Develop investment theses and preliminary business cases for opportunities.
  • Coordinate with leadership, finance, legal, risk and business teams for fit and feasibility.
  • Collaborate with advisors during due diligence, valuation, negotiations and structuring.
  • Monitor activity and trends to identify new opportunities; present assessments to senior leadership.
  • Support negotiations and transaction execution from initial discussions to closure.
  • Develop a framework for sourcing and prioritizing opportunities.

As a senior leader in M&A and Corporate Development, you will play a key role in shaping the organization's inorganic growth strategy. You will independently lead deal origination, conduct market and industry mapping, identify potential acquisition targets, and build a high-quality pipeline aligned with the organization's strategic priorities.

The ideal candidate will combine strong BFSI industry knowledge with proven expertise in M&A, corporate development, deal origination, and stakeholder management.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead M&A origination across segments within the BFSI industry, identifying opportunities that align with the organization's strategic and growth objectives.
  • Develop and maintain a robust acquisition pipeline across banking, NBFCs, insurance, fintech, wealth management, asset management, lending, payments, and other relevant financial services segments.
  • Conduct comprehensive market and industry mapping to identify emerging businesses, attractive sub-sectors, consolidation opportunities, and potential acquisition targets.
  • Originate and evaluate potential transactions through extensive market research, industry intelligence, professional networks, and relationship building.
  • Build and maintain relationships with promoters, founders, CXOs, investment bankers, private equity investors, advisors, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop investment theses and preliminary business cases for potential acquisition opportunities.
  • Work closely with internal leadership, strategy, finance, legal, risk, and business teams to assess strategic fit and transaction feasibility.
  • Coordinate with advisors and external stakeholders during due diligence, valuation, negotiations, and transaction structuring.
  • Track competitive M&A activity, industry consolidation, regulatory developments, and market trends to identify new opportunities.
  • Prepare and present opportunity assessments, transaction rationale, market intelligence, and pipeline updates to senior leadership.
  • Support negotiations and transaction execution from initial discussions through signing and closure.
  • Develop a structured framework for continuously sourcing and prioritizing potential acquisition opportunities.
