The role primarily consists of designing, automating, operating, and troubleshooting FactSet’s various network systems, including but not limited to WAN, LAN, SAN, WiFi, load‑balancing, Internet egress, DNS, AWS cloud networking, network automation, and market‑data environments. The engineer must quickly acquire domain knowledge, serve as a subject‑matter expert, implement solutions, and move on to the next initiative.

What You’ll Do

• Act as a strong consultative resource for FactSet’s clients, vendors, and internal leaders.
• Engage in major project delivery and contribute regularly to improve the stability and performance of the network.
• Configure Cisco and Arista routers, switches, and cloud‑networking services to integrate into internal and external networks.
• Build solid, long‑lived relationships with FactSet’s clients and internal stakeholders.
• Serve as an escalation point for network downtime emergencies and layer1–7 troubleshooting.
• Research, design, and implement connections to market‑data providers and other third parties.
• Streamline existing and new processes using templates, automation, and workflow systems.
• Lead and mentor junior network engineers.
• Participate in shift rotation for Saturday and Sunday on‑call coverage and 16X5 shift rotation.

What We’re Looking For

• BS degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years as a technical lead.
• Strong knowledge of routing protocols (TCP/IP, EVPN, VX‑LAN, MP‑BGP, DCI, etc.), LAN switching, Wireshark, Kubernetes networking and ingress, BGP, and EIGRP.
• Expertise with router/switch architectures and protocols such as HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, SMTP.
• Deep understanding of cloud computing, especially AWS, Azure, or GCP networking.
• Ability to troubleshoot and isolate technical issues quickly.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with network automation tools (Python, Ansible, Salt), REST APIs, YAML, JSON.
• Familiarity with Linux, Windows, and network operating systems (IOS, IOS‑XE, JunOS, EOS, F5).
• Competence in programming or scripting; experience with Unix/Linux/Windows.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CCIE) are a plus.
• Desirable: experience with firewalls, load balancers, wireless networks, NSX, Infoblox, and AI development toolsets.
