Job summary

Freight Wings Pvt. Ltd. invites a seasoned Lead Structural Design Engineer to head our internal design team. You will steer structural strategy, oversee robust engineering practices, and tackle complex challenges using MIDAS, STAAD.Pro, ANSYS, and AutoCAD.

Primary interaction with erection teams, project managers, and clients to deliver safe, cost-effective, and innovative structural solutions while ensuring compliance with relevant Indian and international standards.

Qualifications

• Education: M. Tech or B.E./B. Tech in Structural/Civil Engineering.
• Experience: Minimum 8 years in structural design, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Software Proficiency: Expert in MIDAS Civil, ANSYS, and STAAD.Pro; working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the structural design team, allocating tasks, conducting reviews, and mentoring engineers.
• Provide expert design analysis using MIDAS, STAAD.Pro, ANSYS and AutoCAD tools.
• Review and approve drawings, models, BOQs, and design documentation.
• Ensure compliance with IS, IRC, Eurocode, and AASHTO standards.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Lead Structural Design Engineer to lead our internal design team. The ideal candidate will oversee structural design strategy, ensure robust engineering practices, and directly contribute to complex design challenges. Proficiency in MIDAS, STAAD.Pro, ANSYS & Auto Cad is essential. This is a leadership role requiring coordination with erection teams, project managers, and clients to ensure safe, cost-effective, and innovative structural solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the structural design team, including allocation of design tasks, technical reviews, and mentoring junior engineers.
• Provide expert-level analysis and design of structures using MIDAS, STAAD.Pro, ANSYS & Auto Cad.
• Review and approve structural drawings, models, BOQ’s and design documentation.
• Ensure design compliance with relevant Indian and international standards (IS, IRC, Eurocode, AASHTO).
• Work closely with the projects, sales and execution teams to ensure constructible and site-adapted designs and solutions.
• Validate structural adequacy for heavy lifting, transportation, and erection-related operations
• Evaluate and optimize structural solutions for cost, efficiency, and sustainability.
• Represent the design department in client meetings, design reviews, and audits.
• Liaise with external consultants and vendors where necessary.
• Establish and implement best practices, templates, and design protocols for the department.
• Ensure timely delivery of design and solutions within budget and schedule constraints.
• Support project execution with detailed drawings, erection methodologies, and real-time problem-solving.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies, tools, and software in structural engineering.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: M. Tech or B.E./B. Tech in Structural/Civil Engineering.
• Experience: Minimum 8 years of experience in structural design, with at least 3 years in a leadership.
• Software Proficiency: Expert-level skills in MIDAS Civil, ANSYS and STAAD.Pro; working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM platforms preferred.
• Proven track record in designing for infrastructure projects such as bridges, marine structures, and heavy steel erections, offshore/ onshore platforms.

• Deep knowledge of structural analysis and design for static and dynamic loads.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work under tight timelines and manage design risks proactively.
