Job summary

EPAM Systems in Chennai seeks a Lead Software Engineer - Java with Azure to lead backend systems and microservices on Azure, driving delivery from design through release.

You will own features end-to-end, ensure scalability and performance, collaborate with Agile/Scrum teams, and contribute to API design and CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience
• 8+ years in full-stack development using Java (Spring Boot) and Azure
• Hands-on Java/Spring Framework experience
• Strong knowledge of APIs and microservices architecture
• Proficiency in Java 17, Spring Boot 3.1.2, Spring Framework 6.0.7, Hibernate, RESTful design
• Experience implementing CI/CD using Azure Pipeline, Jenkins, GitLab CI
• Understanding of microservices and event-driven architecture
• Cloud experience especially Azure (Data Factory, Databricks, AKS, Functions)
• Strong debugging and collaboration in Agile/Scrum teams
• English proficiency at B2 for communication and documentation

• Hands-on experience building solutions with Java and Spring Framework
• Good knowledge of APIs and microservices architecture
• Strong proficiency in Java 17, Spring Boot 3.1.2, Spring Framework 6.0.7, Hibernate, RESTful API design, and modular frontend architecture
• Practical experience implementing CI/CD pipelines using Azure Pipeline, Jenkins, and GitLab CI
• Solid understanding of microservices and event-driven architecture
• Working knowledge of cloud environments, especially Azure (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Functions (serverless))
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across the stack
• Ability to collaborate in Agile/Scrum teams with clear, effective communication
• English proficiency at B2 (Upper-Intermediate for communication and documentation)
