Job summary

U.S. Bancorp India is seeking a Tech Lead to guide day-to-day engineering execution within a domain team.

You will blend hands-on development with technical decision-making, mentoring, and collaboration with product and business stakeholders. You will drive design of APIs, data models, and workflows, maintain standards through code reviews and CI/CD, and lead on-call and production reliability efforts across backend services and React-based UI.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to deliver production-grade solutions.
• Experience leading technical delivery within agile teams.
• Proficiency with modern development practices (testing, code review, CI/CD, instrumentation/monitoring).
• Working knowledge of integration patterns (REST/GraphQL/events), domain modeling, and data persistence approaches.
• Full-stack development experience with React or a comparable UI framework.
• Hands-on DevOps experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform), containers, source control, build and deployment orchestration, automated testing, observability, and secure zero-downtime delivery.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills; ability to influence without authority.

Role Summary

The Tech Lead is the senior technical leader embedded within a domain team, responsible for guiding day-to-day engineering execution and ensuring solutions are delivered with high quality, maintainability, and alignment to architectural standards. This role blends hands-on development with technical decision-making, mentorship, and collaboration with product and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical execution for domain features and services, ensuring reliable delivery and clean, maintainable implementations.
• Drive solution design at the epic and component level (APIs, data models, workflows), aligning with enterprise/application architecture guardrails.
• Maintain engineering standards through code reviews, testing strategies, CI/CD discipline, and observability practices.
• Partner closely with Product, UX, and domain SMEs to translate requirements into sound technical approaches.
• Identify and mitigate delivery risks (technical debt, performance issues, unclear requirements), and propose pragmatic solutions.
• Mentor engineers through pairing, coaching, and technical feedback; foster a culture of learning and ownership.
• Act as the team’s technical "voice" in planning, estimation, and trade-off decisions.
• Support incident response and operational excellence for the domain’s services (on-call readiness, root cause analysis, resilience).
• Lead full-stack delivery across backend services and modern user interfaces using React or similar frameworks.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automation, monitoring, and reliable production operations.

Required Skills / Experience

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and proven ability to deliver production-grade solutions.
• Experience leading technical delivery within agile teams.
