Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in Bengaluru seeks a Lead Software Engineer - Cloud Platform Engineer to design and build cloud-native services for Chase UK. You will work with Golang, AWS, Kubernetes, and Kafka to automate, scale, and secure our digital banking platform.

Lead architectural decisions and mentor teams to ensure reliability and developer efficiency. The role emphasizes cloud architecture, secure deployments, and collaboration across global teams, with emphasis on on-call readiness and production

Qualifications

• 5+ years of public cloud experience (AWS).
• Experience with infra-as-code (Terraform).
• Knowledge of AWS networking.
• Experience operating Kubernetes clusters (EKS).
• Proficiency in Python or Go.
• CI/CD pipeline development across the full SDLC.
• DevOps practices and SDLC knowledge.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Desirable: security best practices in cloud.

Responsibilities

• Own specific applications, ensure compliance and up-to-date documentation.
• Maintain AWS cloud infrastructure for 24/7 operation focusing on stability, performance, security and compliance.
• Maintain and improve connectivity security between AWS accounts and third parties.
• Maintain deployment pipelines and migrate to strategic CI/CD tooling; use Bash/Python/Go as needed.
• Provide a cloud platform for developers and support SDLC improvements and developer experience.
• Participate in on-call rota.

As a Lead Software Engineer - Vice President at JPMorgan Chase within the International Consumer Bank, you will be responsible for designing and developing cloud-native services that support Chase UK. You will utilize technologies such as Golang, AWS, Kubernetes, and Kafka to promote automation and enhance the developer experience. Collaborating with skilled colleagues, you will contribute to architectural decisions and foster a culture of technical excellence. Your efforts will have a direct impact on the reliability, scalability, and security of our digital banking platform.

Job Responsibilities:

• Being a key contact and owner of specific applications, ensuring compliance and documentation is up to date
• Maintain our AWS cloud infrastructure to ensure the bank's 24/7 operation with a focus on stability, performance, security and compliance
• Maintain and improve stability, security and performance of connectivity for our customers, in-between AWS accounts, as well as in-between Chase and third parties
• Maintain existing deployment pipeline and migrate to strategic CI/CD tooling using a variety of programming languages (Bash/Python/Go) as necessary
• Maintain a cloud platform for application developers and provide support to improve their SDLC and developer experience
• Participate in on-call rota

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

• Formal training and 5+ years applied experience developing and maintaining applications in the public cloud (we use AWS)
• Experience managing public cloud infrastructure using infra-as-code technologies (we use Terraform)
• Good knowledge of AWS Networking
• Good knowledge of Kubernetes clusters' operations (we use EKS)
• Good knowledge of programming using a modern language (Python/Go)
• Experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines that covers the full SDLC
• Excellent understanding of DevOps principles and SDLC best practices
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

• Familiar with software engineering security best practices in a cloud environment
• Experience developing unit, integration and end-to-end software tests
