Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in Bengaluru seeks a Software Engineer III to contribute to the International Consumer Bank initiative, delivering secure, scalable production code and data-informed improvements. You will collaborate across distributed teams, advocate best practices, and work with modern tools such as Terraform, GitHub and Jira to enable agile software delivery.

You will bring 3+ years of hands-on experience in design, development, testing, and operations, with cloud and security awareness

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing and operational stability.
• Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern languages (e.g., Python) and database querying.
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Understanding of Agile methodologies, resilience, and security.
• Knowledge of software applications and technical processes (cloud, mobile).
• Experience with Public Cloud services in Production (e.g., AWS).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Execute software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting, solving complex problems beyond routine approaches.
• Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that integrate with systems.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications ensuring constraints are met.
• Gather, analyze, synthesize, and visualize data to continuously improve software applications.
• Identify hidden data patterns to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system design.
• Contribute to software engineering communities and explore new technologies.
• Work with Atlassian SaaS products (Jira/Confluence), SSO integration, SCIM and Terraform resources.

Job Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development teams to enhance the developer experience, providing tools and infrastructure that support agile methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment.
• Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting, thinking beyond routine approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
• Create secure and high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems.
• Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met by software code development.
• Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets to continuously improve software applications and systems.
• Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data, using insights to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture.
• Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events exploring new and emerging technologies.
• Experience working with Atlassian SaaS products (Jira / Confluence) , SSO integration, SCIM & creating resources via Terraform

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming languages (e.g., Python) and database querying languages.
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies, Applicant Resiliency, and Security.
• Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, mobile).
• Experience with Public Cloud services in Production (e.g., AWS).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

• Familiarity with modern front-end or back-end technologies.
• Proficient in coding in one or more languages.
• Experience with tools such as GitHub, GitHub Actions, Artifactory, Terraform Cloud, Slack, Grafana, SonarQube is a plus.
