The Digital and Technology team at General Mills is a large unit focused on exploring trends and innovations in technology, and leading the adoption of cutting-edge technologies across the organization. The team collaborates with global business teams to understand models and identify opportunities to leverage technology for efficiency and disruption. Areas include AI/ML, Data Science, IoT, NLP, Cloud, Infrastructure, RPA and Automation, Digital Transformation, Cyber Security, Blockchain, SAP S/4HANA and Enterprise Architecture. Purpose of the role

The Digital and Technology team at General Mills India Centre seeks a passionate Lead Software Engineer (12+ years) to lead, develop, and manage custom application development projects. The role requires the ability to see the big picture while focusing on important details pragmatically and result-oriented. Experience with Microsoft .NET stack (C#, ASP.NET Core, .NET Core, API development, Blazor) and JavaScript frameworks (ReactJS, Angular) is required. A track record of designing and developing high-quality, scalable, and performant applications aligned with organizational goals is expected.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Mentor and guide junior software engineers.
• Assist in hiring and grooming team members.
• Set goals and objectives for operational results.
• Plan, prioritize and execute development activities across projects.
• Review project scope and requirements to determine necessary work and staffing.
• Design, develop, maintain and support application portfolios.
• Develop and increase team performance and collaboration across organizations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Full-time graduation from an accredited university (mandatory).
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• Minimum 12 years of proven software development experience.
• Strong object-oriented programming concepts; experience with C# and JavaScript.
• Deep experience in ASP.NET Core, Blazor, microservices, and API development.
• Active participation in code reviews and adherence to coding standards.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks (NUnit, XUnit), API testing, Cloud-native microservices, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Understanding of SDLC and multiple software engineering and testing methodologies.
• Strong SQL/database programming and web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Experience with issue tracking tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, etc.).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• GCP certification.
• Experience with microservices and API application development.
• Technologies: Google Cloud Platform, Big Data, AI/ML, Data Warehouse, ETL, Data Architecture.
