Qualifications

• 5+ years in software development with lead experience

Senior Software Engineer / Lead Software Engineer

About the Role

We're looking for a hands-on Senior Software Engineer / Lead Software Engineer with strong skills across multiple tech stacks, covering architecture, full-stack development and DevOps. You will take ownership of the technical side of the projects you are assigned to, from design and development to deployment and support. Project allocation will be based on business requirements. You’ll use AI-assisted development as a core part of how you work, and help build AI-powered features into the solutions we deliver.

Responsibilities

• Design system and solution architecture for projects
• Build across frontend, backend, APIs and databases, using different tech stacks as the project needs
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and review code for quality
• Use AI coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) to speed up development, while keeping code quality, security and review standards
• Design and build AI-powered features using LLM APIs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and agent-based workflows
• Evaluate and choose suitable AI models and services for each use case, balancing accuracy, latency and cost
• Set team practices for using AI tools responsibly, including prompt guidelines, code review of AI-generated code, and handling data privacy
• Set up and manage DevOps: CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, monitoring and security
• Turn business requirements into technical plans, estimates and delivery milestones
• Recommend suitable technologies and make build-vs-buy decisions for each project
• Design and integrate APIs and third-party services
• Optimise application performance, scalability and cost
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve reliability
• Maintain technical documentation for architecture and deployments

Must have Requirements

• 5+ years in software development, with experience in a lead role
• Daily, hands-on use of AI coding tools as part of your development workflow
• Experience integrating LLM APIs (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock) into production applications
• Understanding of RAG concepts: embeddings, chunking, vector search and retrieval quality
• Proficiency in multiple tech stacks, e.g. React, Next.js, Node.js, NestJS
• Experience designing scalable systems and APIs (REST/GraphQL)
• Solid SQL/NoSQL database knowledge, including schema design and query optimisation
• Hands-on Docker, CI/CD and cloud (AWS/Azure)
• Good understanding of application security, performance and testing practices
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to different projects
• Clear communication with the team and stakeholders

Good to have

• Experience with agent frameworks such as LangChain/LangGraph, LlamaIndex, CrewAI or Model Context Protocol (MCP)
• Experience with vector databases (e.g. pgvector, Pinecone, Qdrant, Azure AI Search)
• Experience evaluating and monitoring LLM output quality (evals, guardrails, observability tools like Langfuse or LangSmith)
• Kubernetes, Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools
• Startup or fast-paced project experience
• Exposure to AI/ML integration, data pipelines or mobile development
