Job summary

New Relic, Inc. seeks an experienced back-end leader to design, build, and scale distributed systems and tools.

You will contribute to architectural decisions, create automation for scalable deployments, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support customers and partners. With 9+ years in production-scale systems and strong GoLang expertise, you will drive ownership and deliver high-quality production code in an Agile, DevOps-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of hands-on experience with distributed systems, concurrency, and production-scale systems.
• Strong proficiency in GoLang (primary language)
• Frontend experience with React - basic level skill
• Cloud platform knowledge — AWS, Azure, or GCP (at least one deeply)
• Proven track record of delivering production code in an Agile environment; collaborative ownership
• Ability to design and implement distributed solutions for complex, real-world problems.

What you'll do

• Design, Build, maintain, and scale back-end services and their support tools.
• Participate in architectural definitions with a high degree of innovation and creativity.
• Creating automation and tooling to make our systems more scalable and easier to deploy.
• Working directly within a multidisciplinary team to help our customers and partners.
• Research new tools and services to understand complex scenarios and to also propose new features.
• Working in an agile environment with a DevOps approach—teams build and maintain their own software, including taking turns with being on-call.

What you'll bring

• 9+ years of hands-on experience with distributed systems, concurrency, and production-scale systems.
• Strong proficiency in GoLang (primary language — non-negotiable)
• Frontend experience with React - Basic level skill
• Cloud platform knowledge — AWS, Azure, or GCP (at least one, deeply).
• Proven track record of delivering production code in an Agile environment.
  Collaborative engineer who drives shared code ownership and involves teammates in key decisions.
• Ability to design and implement distributed solutions for complex, real-world problems.

Good to have

• Experience with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code).
• Familiarity with Temporal for workflow orchestration.
• GitHub Admin experience (managing orgs, teams, access controls).
• Experience building CLI tools in GoLang.
• Knowledge of DSLs (Domain Specific Languages).
• Contributions to open source projects.
• Passion for build and test automation — CI/CD pipelines, test frameworks.

Experience mentoring engineers and up skilling team members.
Async programming skills — streams, event-driven architecture, reactive flows.. Frontend experience with React
