Huron Consulting Group in Bengaluru, India, is seeking a Lead Software Engineer (PostgreSQL Specialist) to lead enterprise PostgreSQL development, tuning, and data integrity, while contributing to backend services using .NET and APIs.

You will mentor teams, drive best practices, design scalable database architectures, and collaborate with cross-functional groups to deliver high-performance solutions in a fast-paced healthcare-focused consulting environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of software development experience.
• 4–6+ years of hands-on experience in PostgreSQL development.

Responsibilities

• Lead PostgreSQL development, including stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Perform query optimization, execution plan analysis, and database performance tuning.
• Design database architecture (indexing, partitioning, data modeling) and manage DB configurations.
• Handle large-scale data operations, migrations, and ensure data integrity & high availability.
• Contribute to backend development using .NET, APIs and support microservices architecture.
• Troubleshoot production issues (slow queries, deadlocks, performance bottlenecks).
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and provide hands-on support.
• Lead technical decisions, mentor team members, and conduct code/design reviews.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive high-quality solution delivery.
