Job summary

PitchBook is seeking a Lead Engineer for the Finance Platform Automation division. You will drive initiatives powering the Finance technology stack, mentor engineers, and guide architecture while delivering automation and data solutions across Finance, Sales, and Customer Success systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years in software engineering with deep integration/workflow automation experience.
• 3+ years leading engineering teams of 5+ members.
• Proficiency in Java/Python/Javascript and modern cloud tech.
• Experience with Salesforce, ERP systems (Oracle), and payment/revenue tools.
• Strong knowledge of Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-scale architecture.
• Familiarity with Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills.
• FinTech background is preferred.
• Experience using AI tools/frameworks to boost productivity and delivery.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and lead design/development of automation for Finance and Revenue platforms.
• Deliver scalable, high-performance, secure code.
• Provide architectural direction and enforce best practices.
• Ensure health/integration of Finance systems (Salesforce Billing, Oracle, Informatica, Marketo).

As a Lead Engineer in PitchBook’s Finance Platform Automation division, you’ll drive the engineeringinitiatives that power our Finance technology stack. You’ll ensure seamless integration, data integrity, andscalability across Finance, Sales, and Customer Success systems.
This role blends technical leadership with hands-on development. You’ll mentor engineers, guide architecture,and deliver automation and data solutions aligned with strategic business goals. Leveraging expertise in Java,Python, workflow automation (Workato), data platforms (Snowflake), cloud technologies (AWS/GCP,Kubernetes, Docker), and messaging frameworks (Kafka), you’ll build high-performance, cloud-native systemsthat enhance automation and financial operations.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Mentor and lead the design and development of automation solutions for Finance and Revenueplatforms
• Deliver scalable, maintainable code focused on performance, reliability, and security
• Provide architectural direction and uphold engineering best practices
• Ensure the health and integration of Finance systems including Salesforce Billing, Oracle, Informatica,and Marketo
• Lead initiatives to improve automation, workflow efficiency, and data consistency across the Financeecosystem
• Drive adoption of best practices in automation, test coverage, and cloud-native delivery
• Partner with Product, Finance, Sales, and Data teams to translate complex technical needs into impactfulbusiness solutions
• Maintain high standards for security, performance, and estimation accuracy
• Identify and remove blockers early to ensure timely, high-quality releases

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 7 + years in software engineering with deep experience in integration and workflow automation
• 3 + years leading engineering teams of 5 + members
• Proficiency in Java/Python or Javascript
• Experience integrating Salesforce, payment portals, collection tools, and ERP systems (Oracle)
• Strong background in Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-scale architecture
• Solid grasp of Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines
• Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills
• Background in FinTech preferred
• Proven experience in leveraging AI tools and frameworks to improve engineering productivity anddelivery efficiency
• Experience designing or integrating AI-driven applications to enhance automation, data insights, oruser experience

The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
