Job Description Lead / Senior Frontend Developer - Angular

Position: Lead / Senior Frontend Developer - Angular
Location: Bangalore, Karnataka

Role Overview

We are looking for a Lead / Senior Frontend Developer - Angular to take ownership of frontend development for our railway/signalling software solutions. The role combines strong hands-on development with frontend architecture, technical leadership, UI/UX collaboration, and close interaction with Product Owners and cross-functional engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain scalable, reliable, and maintainable web applications using Angular and TypeScript.

Own frontend solutions from requirements and solution design through development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

Define and maintain frontend architecture, reusable components, and technical standards, including standalone component architecture and modern Angular patterns.

Design and implement state management solutions using NgRx Store/Signal Store or Angular Signals-based state, ensuring predictable, scalable data flow.

Drive adoption of modern Angular features (Deferrable views, new control flow syntax, zoneless change detection) to improve performance.

Translate product and business requirements into intuitive, responsive, and user-friendly solutions.

Collaborate with Product Owners, UX/UI designers, backend developers, system engineers, QA, and other cross-functional teams to deliver features.

Participate in technical planning, estimation, solution design, and technical decision-making.

Work with UI/UX designs to implement consistent and responsive user interfaces.

Ensure frontend applications meet required standards for performance, usability, reliability, and maintainability.

Conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor other developers.

Contribute to CI/CD and software delivery processes.

Troubleshoot complex frontend issues and drive effective solutions.

Identify and implement improvements to frontend technologies, processes, and development practices.

Qualifications & Experience

5-10 years of professional frontend development experience, with strong hands-on experience in Angular and TypeScript.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Strong knowledge of Angular (including Angular v22 and recent major versions), TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, CSS, and RxJS.

Strong understanding of frontend architecture, design patterns, reusable component design, and clean code principles, along with hands-on experience in state management (NgRx/Signal Store), Angular Signals, and modern Angular features (new control flow, deferrable views, standalone components, zoneless change detection).

Experience with Angular Material, PrimeNG/PrimeOne, or similar UI component libraries, and building/maintaining internal design systems.

Strong experience integrating frontend applications with REST APIs and WebSockets.

Good understanding of frontend performance optimization (lazy loading, OnPush/signal-based change detection, virtual scrolling, bundle size optimization), browser compatibility, responsive web development, and accessibility.

Good understanding of UI/UX principles and practical experience with Figma, including working with designs and prototypes.

Experience with automated testing, including unit testing (Jasmine/Karma or Jest) and integration/e2e testing (Cypress or Playwright).

Experience with Git, CI/CD, and automated build and deployment processes.

Experience working in an Agile development environment.

Strong team player with good communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks and technical decisions, and contribute positively to team goals and technical discussions.

Experience providing technical guidance or mentoring to other developers.

Domain experience in railway/signalling is an added advantage.
