We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Lead Senior Associate – Full-Stack Java Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance software applications. The role involves working closely with product managers, UX designers, and engineering teams to build innovative, user-centric products and features.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and modern front‑end frameworks such as ReactJS. They will take technical ownership of projects, contribute to architectural decisions, mentor fellow engineers, and ensure applications are reliable, observable, maintainable, and scalable.

This role requires a pragmatic engineering mindset, strong problem‑solving capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Full-Stack Application Development

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable backend services and responsive user interfaces using Java, Spring Boot, ReactJS, and related technologies.
• Build and support scalable microservices and front‑end applications for complex, high‑traffic platforms.
• Develop RESTful APIs and integrate backend services with front‑end applications and external systems.
• Translate product requirements and user stories into actionable technical tasks and deliver solutions from development through deployment.
• Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and well‑documented code following established engineering standards.

2. System Design and Technical Ownership

• Contribute to the design and implementation of robust software architectures using microservices, distributed systems, and loosely coupled components.
• Take ownership of assigned features and services throughout their development lifecycle.
• Apply sound engineering principles to improve system performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Identify technical risks, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement effective solutions for large‑scale applications.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and engineering practices to support continuous improvement.

3. Database and API Management

• Design, develop, and optimise relational database schemas, queries, and data‑access layers using databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Build reliable RESTful APIs and ensure efficient communication between distributed services.
• Apply appropriate data modelling, query optimisation, and database performance‑tuning techniques.
• Ensure data integrity, application reliability, and efficient handling of complex business requirements.

4. Monitoring and Operational Excellence

• Improve system observability by implementing metrics, monitoring, logging, and alerting mechanisms.
• Define and track technical and operational metrics to evaluate system health, identify risks, and maintain service reliability.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and support production systems through incident investigation, root‑cause analysis, and resolution.
• Follow best practices for automated testing, code quality, deployment, and operational readiness.

5. Collaboration and Technical Mentorship

• Collaborate with product, UX, and engineering stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high‑quality product features.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, design reviews, and documentation.
• Mentor and support fellow engineers through knowledge sharing, constructive feedback, and technical guidance, without direct people‑management responsibilities.
• Contribute to agile development practices and promote effective communication across technical and non‑technical teams.
• Use AI‑assisted development tools responsibly in accordance with organisational policies.

Must‑Have Skills and Qualifications

• Experience: 4–8+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience in full‑stack application development.
• Java: Strong proficiency in Java, object‑oriented programming, and core computer science concepts.
• Spring Boot: Experience developing backend applications and microservices using Spring Boot, Spring frameworks, and ORM technologies.
• ReactJS: Hands‑on experience with ReactJS or another modern JavaScript framework, with a willingness to learn new technologies.
• Database Management: Strong experience with relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, including schema design and query optimisation.
• Microservices and Distributed Systems: Experience designing and developing microservices, RESTful APIs, and distributed applications.
• Computer Science Fundamentals: Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, software design principles, and problem‑solving techniques.
• Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and diverse stakeholders.
• Engineering Practices: Familiarity with code reviews, automated testing, agile workflows, and production support.

Good‑to‑Have Skills

• Experience in advertising technology (Ad Tech) or digital advertising platforms.
• Familiarity with programmatic advertising, real‑time bidding (RTB), or advertising delivery systems.
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js or Angular.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS.
• Experience with DevOps and infrastructure tools such as Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with data‑streaming and messaging technologies such as Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis, and Amazon SNS/SQS.

Educational Qualifications

A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent practical experience and demonstrated technical expertise will also be considered.
