Job summary

Adani Group is seeking a Lead - Safety-Tx to implement and enforce OHS across transmission project sites and O&M. You will drive safety audits, risk assessments, training, and incident investigations.

You will mentor teams, ensure PPE compliance, lead RCA/CAPA, and coordinate with regulators to foster a zero-harm culture for safe project execution. The role requires 10–15 years in fire safety within large power plants, including transmission, and a background in corporate transmission/power

Qualifications

• BE or Diploma with PG Diploma in Industrial Safety.
• 10-15 years of fire safety experience in large power plants including transmission in O&M and project.
• At least 2 years in corporate office of transmission/power business.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic safety leadership across transmission project sites and O&M operations.
• Conduct safety audits, risk assessments and incident investigations to drive corrective actions.
• Ensure regulatory compliance, audit readiness and documentation control.
• Lead RCA investigations, track CAPA, and enhance emergency preparedness plans.
• Drive Zero Harm initiatives, PPE compliance, and safety training programs.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies on safety standards.

Purpose/Objective

• The Lead - Safety-Tx is responsible for implementing and enforcing occupational health and safety (OHS) standards across project and operations & maintenance (O&M) sites within the Transmission Business.
• This role ensures compliance with safety regulations, industry best practices, and corporate safety policies by conducting audits, risk assessments, and safety training programs.
• The Lead drives continuous improvement in safety performance through proactive hazard identification, incident investigation, and corrective action planning.
• By fostering a strong safety culture and ensuring adherence to safety protocols, the role supports safe project execution, minimizes risks, and enhances overall operational safety.

Key Responsibilities of Role

• Lead - Safety-Tx Strategic Safety Leadership: Enhance safety risk management by conducting safety assessments, identifying potential hazards, and implementing corrective actions to minimize incidents.
• Optimize safety investments by monitoring resource utilization, aligning expenditures with operational needs, and ensuring cost-effective implementation of safety measures.
• Governance, Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure regulatory compliance by conducting periodic safety audits, closing non-conformities, and maintaining documentation for audit readiness.
• Strengthen incident prevention by leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations, tracking Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and enhancing emergency preparedness plans.
• Operational Excellence in Safety Management: Drive Zero Harm initiatives by deploying safety processes, enforcing hazard identification programs, and ensuring adherence to proactive risk mitigation strategies.
• Improve workforce safety standards by ensuring 100% PPE compliance, implementing behavioral-based safety (BBS) programs, and driving continuous safety training.
• Foster a strong safety culture by executing awareness campaigns like Safety Week and Fire Service Week to increase workforce participation.
• Stakeholder & Contractor Management: Enhance contractor safety compliance by conducting pre-engagement safety orientations, monitoring adherence to safety protocols, and ensuring contractual safety requirements are met.
• Strengthen regulatory alignment by coordinating with government agencies and industry bodies to implement evolving safety standards.
• Team Management & Safety Culture: Develop safety leadership by mentoring teams, driving risk-awareness initiatives, and reinforcing a proactive approach to hazard identification.
• Improve workforce engagement in safety programs by enhancing participation in training, awareness sessions, and reporting mechanisms for unsafe conditions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Educational Qualification: BE / Diploma / B.
• Sc.
• and PG Diploma in Industrial Safety Work Experience (Range of years): 10-15 years' experience of working in fire Safety functions in large size power plants including transmission in O&M and project.
• At least two years of experience in corporate office of transmission / power business.
• Conduct safety inspections and assessment in project & operational locations of transmission set up pan India.
• Monitor the implementation level, follow up and get execution at site with line function.
• Be a resource person / facilitate for safe project and O&M of transmission.
