Job summary

Cognizant seeks a lead quality engineer to drive automated testing strategies for hybrid day shift projects. You will design and execute robust automation using Java, Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, Jenkins, and GitHub Copilot while collaborating with cross-functional teams and leveraging pharmacy claims domain knowledge where applicable.

You will enhance existing automation frameworks, integrate tests into CI/CD, and ensure reliable, secure, and scalable software delivery.

Qualifications

• Eight to twelve years of progressive experience in quality engineering with a strong focus on automation.
• Advance proficiency in Java programming and reusable libraries to support complex Selenium/TestNG suites.
• Expertise with Selenium WebDriver, element strategies, and cross-browser validation.
• Experience with TestNG features, data-driven testing, parallel execution and reporting.
• Hands-on knowledge of Cucumber-based BDD, feature files, step definitions, and hooks.
• Solid understanding of Jenkins as code and CI/CD integration for automated tests.
• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot to accelerate test development while preserving quality.

Responsibilities

• Strong experience in Automation Architect Role.
• Hands-on experience in JAVA using Selenium and Appium with frameworks like TestNG or Cucumber.
• Ability to understand maintain and enhance existing automation frameworks.
• Good knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/GitLab CI)
• Good communication documentation customer interaction skills & project management skills
• Good technical understanding of the component systems technology and architecture
• Strong knowledge and working experience on Agile scrum methodologies and using JIRA

Qualifications

• Possess eight to twelve years of progressive experience in quality engineering with a strong focus on automation and continuous testing practices in enterprise scale environments.
• Demonstrate advanced proficiency in Java programming with the ability to design reusable libraries utilities and page object models that support complex Selenium and TestNG test suites.
• Exhibit deep hands on expertise in Selenium WebDriver including element strategies synchronization techniques and cross browser validations for modern web applications.
• Show strong experience with TestNG features such as annotations data driven testing parallel execution and reporting to optimize suite reliability and execution time.
• Display practical experience with Cucumber based behavior driven development including authoring feature files step definitions and hooks that align with business language.
• Bring solid working knowledge of Jenkins configuration pipeline as code concepts and integration of automated tests into continuous integration flows.
• Utilize GitHub Copilot or similar intelligent coding assistants responsibly to accelerate test development while maintaining code quality readability and maintainability.
• Communicate effectively with cross functional partners using clear inclusive and concise language to discuss defects risks and mitigation plans.
• Apply foundational understanding of pharmacy claims or broader healthcare domains as a nice to have capability to design more realistic and compliant test scenarios.
• Adapt comfortably to a hybrid work model and day shift schedule by managing time collaboration and self directed tasks to meet project milestones without travel requirements.
• Maintain a strong focus on quality customer impact and ethical considerations so that released solutions support better outcomes for clients and end users in society.
