Job summary

FiveForce Technologies is seeking a Lead Power System Engineer in Bengaluru to drive comprehensive network studies for transmission and distribution assets. You will model, simulate, and validate power system components for renewable energy and storage projects, coordinating with backend teams and stakeholders.

You will lead a team, plan studies, and ensure technical excellence in deliverables while leveraging PSS/E and DigiSILENT PowerFactory for model development and validation.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or Masters in a relevant field.
  • Experience with grid studies for renewables (wind/solar/BESS).
  • Leadership experience and study planning capability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead load flow, short-circuit, harmonic and stability studies for T&D networks.
  • Develop and validate detailed power system models in PSS/E and DigiSILENT PowerFactory.
  • Mentor junior engineers and coordinate study plans with project stakeholders.

Role Overview

Lead a team in conducting comprehensive network studies—including load flow, short-circuit, harmonic, steady-state, transient, and EMT analyses for transmission and distribution networks. Drive modeling, simulation, and validation of power system components for renewable energy (wind, solar PV) and battery energy storage projects. Support grid-integration studies, protection coordination, and planning across generation, transmission, and distribution assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute and lead load flow, short-circuit, harmonic, steady-state, and dynamic/transient stability studies for T&D networks; plan studies, delegate tasks, and ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
  • Develop, validate, and govern detailed power system models (generators, inverters, transformers, lines, loads, protection systems) in PSS®E and/or DigiSILENT PowerFactory; review peer models and maintain a validated library.
  • Integrate models into DigiSILENT, perform validation tests, and support backend teams in developing Python-based tools to interface Power Tools UI with backend systems.
  • Collaborate with key users and project managers to validate use cases, identify tool enhancements, and propose improvements for better efficiency and accuracy.
  • Mentor junior engineers, set study priorities, and ensure technical excellence across all deliverables.
