Job summary

Hackajob is seeking a senior frontend architect to lead the evolution of our frontend platform. You will own architectural decisions, mentor developers, and drive best practices across React, Next.js, TypeScript and Sitecore JSS.

You will collaborate with backend, UX, QA, and product teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance interfaces, with a strong focus on SSR/SSG and SEO optimization.

Qualifications

• 6–8 years of practical experience with React, Next.js, TS, SCSS, and HTML5.
• 2+ years in a technical lead or architect role owning frontend architecture decisions.
• Strong experience designing frontend architecture from scratch and defining project structure, components, state-management, and API patterns.
• Hands-on Sitecore JSS experience and knowledge of Experience Editor integration.
• Deep knowledge of SSR/SSG/ISR, routing, caching, server/client boundaries, middleware, and production deployment considerations.
• Proven testing expertise with Jest; familiarity with TDD practices.
• Experience with accessibility standards and SEO for SSR/SSG.
• Proficiency in Git and CI/CD tools; ability to set up projects from scratch.

Responsibilities

Description

You will work closely with frontend, backend and Sitecore development teams as well as DevOps, UX, QA, and product teams, and you will be responsible for the quality, performance, security, accessibility, and operational health of the frontend.

Responsibilities

Technical leadership: Ability to make and document architectural decisions, evaluate trade-offs, conduct design/code reviews, mentor developers, and establish engineering best practices across the team.

Project Setup & Configuration:

• Lead the initial setup and configuration of a Sitecore JSS and Next.js TypeScript project.
• Integrate Next.js frameworks like SSR (Server-Side Rendering), SSG (Static Site Generation), and ISG (Incremental Static Regeneration) for optimal performance and scalability.
• Set up and configure build tools, CI/CD pipelines, and development environments.

Frontend Development:

• Develop dynamic and responsive user interfaces using React, TypeScript, SCSS, and Sitecore JSS.
• Ensure seamless integration with the Sitecore Experience Editor for editing content in real-time.
• Implement reusable components, hooks, and React state management libraries.

Testing & Quality Assurance:

• Write and maintain unit tests using the Jest framework to ensure code quality.
• Implement end-to-end testing to cover UI and API integration.
• Collaborate with QA to ensure comprehensive test coverage.

Performance Optimization & Security:

• Optimize frontend performance by leveraging Next.js best practices, including code-splitting and lazy-loading.
• Implement a robust Content Security Policy (CSP) and maintain high security standards for client-side rendering.
• Optimize the project for SEO using best practices in SSR and SSG.

Collaboration & Communication:

• Work closely with backend developers to ensure seamless API integration and data flow.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate design mockups into high-quality code.
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate in an Agile development environment.

Qualifications

Core Technologies:

• Proficient in React, Next.js, TypeScript, SCSS and HTML5.
• Strong understanding of Server-Side Rendering (SSR), Static Site Generation (SSG), and Incremental Static Regeneration (ISG).
• Proven experience designing frontend architecture from scratch, defining project structure, component architecture, coding standards, state-management strategy, API/data-access patterns, error handling, logging, and observability.
• Strong Next.js architecture knowledge: Beyond SSR/SSG/ISR, experience with routing, caching/revalidation, server/client component boundaries where applicable, middleware, authentication, error handling, image/font optimization, and production deployment considerations.
• 6-8 years of practical experience using above technologies
• 2+ years in a technical lead or architect role with ownership of frontend architecture decisions.

Sitecore JSS:

• Experience with Sitecore JSS for creating seamless, editable components.
• Understanding of integrating Sitecore Experience Editor.

Testing:

• Proficient with Jest for unit testing and ensuring code quality.
• Familiarity with test-driven development (TDD) practices.

Performance Optimization:

• Experience optimizing web performance, particularly in SSR/SSG environments.

Other:

• Experience working with Git and CI/CD tools.
• Familiarity with setting up projects from scratch, including project structure, build configurations, and deployment pipelines.

Nice to Have:

• Familiarity with other testing frameworks like Cypress or Enzyme.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and SEO optimization techniques.
• Experience with GraphQL and REST API integrations.
