Job summary

Jacobs in Mumbai seeks a seasoned mechanical building services engineer to lead technical support for HVAC and mechanical systems in data center projects across the region. You will manage delivering design calculations, reports, and specifications, coordinate with engineers, drafting, and design staff, and lead project/site meetings with clients and consultants.

With BIM/3D modeling experience, you will ensure compliance with local codes and international standards while guiding multiple

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 10+ years of relevant experience on mechanical services design, especially for data center projects.
• Knowledge of local building codes and international standards for compliance.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple stakeholders.
• Experience with BIM and 3D models is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Maintain consistent quality standards and conformance with design plans and specifications across the project.
• Prepare mechanical system technical reports and specifications including functional descriptions.
• As a hands-on manager, coordinate with engineers, drafting, and design staff to fulfill deliverables.
• Lead and attend project/site meetings with Client, PM, and consultants from other disciplines.
• Liaise and coordinate technical issues with other disciplines.
• Build relationships with clients in a Doer/Seller capacity.
• Support site supervision and plant commissioning activities when required.
• Assist proposals and bids as needed.

Job description

This role will provide technical support, particularly in mechanical building services engineering works, with an emphasis on HVAC for Data Centers across Region.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that consistent quality standards and conformance with design plans / specifications are maintained across the project and coordination with other disciplines to ensure consistency across the project
• Technical reports and specifications including functional descriptions for Mechanical systems.
• As a hands‑on manager, engage with engineers, drafting, and design staff to fulfill deliverables.
• To lead and attend project/site meeting with Client, PM, and Consultants from other disciplines.
• Liaise and coordinate relevant technical issues with other disciplines.
• Relationship building with clients generally involves a Doer/Seller role.
• Support site supervision and plant commissioning activities when required.
• Support proposals and bids when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Professional Engineer registration would be an added advantage.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience to perform engineering tasks on the mechanical services detailed design (including calculations, computer simulations, specifications, etc), particularly in Data Center projects.
• Knowledge of relevant Local Building Codes and international standards to ensure compliance.
• Ability to work independently and confidently while managing multiple stakeholders.
• Experience working with BIM and 3D models would be an added advantage.
