Job summary

Maxwell Energy System Pvt Ltd in Bengaluru seeks a Lead Mechanical Engineer to lead housing design for chargers, MCU, DC-DC converter and VCU. You will work with internal and external stakeholders on mechanical design, simulation, development and testing of parts.

Responsibilities include concept prep, part design in metal/plastic/rubber, tolerance/thermal/vibration analyses, PCBA integration, assembly processes, and collaboration with suppliers and cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience on at least 3 mechanical casing projects from requirement definition to product release.
• Hands-on experience on at least 3 IP67-rated automotive ECU casing projects.
• 5+ years hands-on experience with SolidWorks or AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical design concepts for Charger, MCU and VCU meeting size, function and cost.
• Design and own mechanical parts in metal, plastic and rubber.
• Perform tolerance, thermal and vibration analyses.
• Collaborate with ECAD team to integrate PCBA mechanically.
• Define assembly process for high-volume manufacturing.
• Define DVP tests and coordinate with T&V for lab testing.
• Coordinate with suppliers for design clarifications and tooling.
• Support rapid prototyping (3D printing, machining, silicone molding).
• Prepare and release MCAD, MBOM, part drawings, test plans and reports.
• Act as single point of contact for all mechanical topics with cross-functional teams.

Job description

We are looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to lead the housing design of our next generation charger, Motor controller Unit(MCU), DC to DC convertor and Vehicle controller unit (VCU). He will be working with the internal and external stack holders and responsible for all the mechanical design, simulation, development and testing of mechanical parts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the different mechanical design concepts for Charger, MCU and VCU e.t.c which meets size, functional and cost requirement.
• Design and own the different mechanical parts of metal, plastic and rubber.
• Execute the tolerance analysis, thermal analysis and vibration analysis.
• Work with the ECAD team and own the mechanical integration of a PCBA.
• Define the assembly process and sequence for the high volume manufacturing.
• Define the mechanical DVP tests and coordination with the T&V team for internal and external lab testing.
• Work with a mechanical parts supplier and provide them a technical clarification on the design and tooling go ahead.
• Work with suppliers for the Rapid prototyping (3D printing, Machining, silicon molding) for initial engineering build.
• Prepare and release all the mechanical design Artifacts (MCAD, MBOM, Part Drawing, Test Plan, Test Report, Analysis Report).
• Collaborate with cross functional team and will be a single point of contact for allmechanical related topics.

Must-Have Requirements

• Hands on experience of minimum 3 mechanical casing projects from requirement definition to product release.

• Hands on experience on minimum 3 projects for the IP67 ratted automotive ECU casing design.
• 5+ yr Hands on experience on the solids works/AutoCAD
