Morgan Stanley seeks a security reference data developer for its IST division in Mumbai and Bangalore, responsible for architecting, designing and maintaining product data interfaces and infrastructure. You will work across global teams to stabilize Listed Derivatives and Cash Equity data flows.
You will engage with users and business analysts to translate requirements into technical architecture, and contribute to complex IT applications using iterative and Agile SDLC methodologies.
Institutional Securities Technology (IST) is one of the important divisions within Morgan Stanley Technology & Data.
TEDRA (Trade Enrichment Data Reporting & Allocations) is part of the Institutional Securities Technology (IST) Division. It is responsible for maintaining, distributing, and reporting on trading, revenue, risk, and reference data (client, product, and pricing). As the authoritative source of key data sets, we are heavily involved in data engineering, modelling, processing, visualization and analytics efforts across the Firm and work with a huge variety of businesses, functions and systems across Institutional Securities and Wealth Management from strats and low latency e-trading through to client confirms, finance, settlements and regulatory reporting.
SRD (Securities Reference Data) particularly focuses on exchange listed product and pricing reference data, working with vendors like Reuters and Bloomberg as well as directly with exchange data from over 100 worldwide venues to service systems throughout the firm with critical real-time data on millions of products through a variety of platforms from mainframe to cloud and everything in between.
User facing, fast paced application development on robust, real-time enterprise scale data systems and services in Java, Angular and Python on a variety of data platforms primarily MongoDB, Sybase and Spark.
Working in a global, agile, collaborative environment.
Engaging with clients and consumers to set priorities.
Implementation of appropriate caching and messaging technologies.
Building and utilizing knowledge of listed product lifecycles and front to back processing flow through the firm to create scalable, intuitive enterprise-wide data models and services.
This position is in Security Reference Data Tech at our Mumbai and Bangalore Office. The candidate will join the global Securities Reference Data Development team tasked with architecting, designing, developing and maintaining the product data interfaces and infrastructure and bringing stability mainly to the Listed Derivatives and Cash Equity flows and processes.
Candidate will have an opportunity to work directly with the users, business analyst, translate business requirements into the technical architecture and manage overall deliverables. Further the candidate need to have strong skills of executing projects and sustaining complex IT applications using well known SDLC methodologies like iterative method, Agile etc. The candidate should expect to work in a global virtual team environment along with Bangalore, Mumbai, London and New York teams. The candidate may be responsible for more than one project at a time.
Success in this position requires a range of skills, both interpersonal and technical. It requires a solid foundation across the complete spectrum of software engineering of distributed systems using Java/J2EE as core set of technologies. The candidate should be comfortable working across all the tiers in the proposed solution: RDBMS, batch processes, application servers, backend programming using Python.
The candidate must be a highly proactive, self-motivated, fast learner with strong analytical skills is needed to research solutions and power past technical challenges as they arise. Must be self-confident, intellectually honest, open-minded, helpful and respectful- but also able to passionately and articulately present and defend their ideas and positions.
