The role targets engineers with 8–10 years of hands-on Java development, including Spring Boot, Hibernate/JPA, and distributed systems. You will own technical solutions, engage in architecture discussions, and collaborate with product, QA, and DevOps teams.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of hands-on Java/J2EE development experience.

• Object-oriented design, design patterns, data structures.

• Cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Distributed systems, API integrations, enterprise apps.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Spring Boot Developer to design, develop, and support scalable backend services for retail and supply chain platforms.

This role is ideal for engineers with 8 - 10 years of hands-on Java development experience who have worked with Warehouse Management (WMS), Order Management (OMS), Supply Chain, Retail, or other high-volume transactional systems.

Candidates with direct OMS/WMS experience will be a strong fit. However, engineers with backend development experience in adjacent domains and a strong understanding of complex business workflows, integrations, APIs, and distributed systems are also encouraged to apply.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking ownership of technical solutions, contributing to architecture and design decisions, and working closely with product, business, QA, and DevOps teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business and functional requirements and translate them into technical designs, solutions, and effort estimates.
• Design and develop scalable, high-performance backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Build, enhance, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices supporting retail and supply chain workflows.
• Develop and support functionality across order management, inventory, fulfillment, warehouse, and logistics domains.
• Design and implement integrations with upstream and downstream systems such as e-commerce platforms, WMS, ERP, payment systems, and logistics providers.
• Participate in solution design and architecture discussions, evaluating technical approaches and trade-offs.
• Translate complex business requirements into clean, scalable, maintainable, and reusable technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and contribute to root cause analysis, performance optimization, and system reliability.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, security, performance, scalability, and reliability best practices.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams.
• Conduct and participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers and provide technical guidance within the team.
• Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices, development processes, system architecture, and technical standards.

Required Technical Skills

• 8 - 10 years of hands-on software development experience with Java/J2EE.
• Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
• Strong experience with Hibernate/JPA and ORM concepts.
• Proven experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, data structures, and software engineering principles.
• Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or similar; exposure to NoSQL databases is a plus.
• Experience with Git or other version control systems.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automated deployment processes.
• Exposure to at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, API integrations, and enterprise application development.
