Job summary

SITA is seeking an experienced pre‑sales architect to design deployment and infrastructure solutions for airline customers. You will lead delivery of network, compute, storage and cloud architectures across on‑prem, private cloud, public cloud, or hybrid environments while crafting BOMs and costing for customer opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology and/or Engineering.
• 7–10 years in IT, Air Transport, Telecom or related industry in a technical pre‑sales role.
• Proven track record in producing, communicating and documenting technical customer solutions.
• Proven track record in managing solution proposals, costing, and customer presentations.
• Expert in network design (WAN/Campus LAN, Cisco SDA, WLC, ISE, ACI, Nexus).
• Experience in compute, storage, and networking across on‑prem, virtualized, private/public cloud.
• Solid security experience: IPSEC, ACLs, NAT, firewalls.
• Understanding of Azure ExpressRoute and AWS Direct Connect.
• Understanding of cloud security such as Zscaler and Cisco Umbrella.
• Understanding of network and security monitoring (SIEM).
• Familiar with Versa or Cisco SD‑WAN, Salesforce and ServiceNow.
• Adept at drawing diagrams (Visio); proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with vendor products and standard network design.
• Experience with server sizing and licensing; strong commercial acumen.

About the Role & Team

Architect and design the solution to meet the business requirements of SITA customers predominantly in the pre-sales phase (RFPs or unsolicited opportunities) with focus on deployment, infrastructure, network architecture, and cloud architecture.

What You Will Do

• Manage technical solution in response to an RFP or unsolicited case that can consist of multiple SITA products (and portfolios), which includes new or evolving technologies and SITA solution portfolios.
• Design the deployment architecture and infrastructure specifications—servers and networking (LAN and WAN) for a solution to the customer’s requirements.
• Design deployment architecture for SITA products, including runtime environment in various flavours—on premise servers, virtualized server environment, containerized application environment through Kubernetes, public cloud, etc., to meet functional and non-functional system requirements.
• Design the network solution—both LAN/WLAN (in the airport) and WAN.
• Develop the conceptual design, and high‑level design, and provide suitable inputs for the low‑level design.
• Develop Bill of Materials: compute & storage and networking specifications for servers, virtual machines, containers (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), etc. based on guidance from SITA’s product toolkits; storage—including backup solution; networking—including LAN/WLAN components such as switches, firewalls, SD‑WAN; software licensing requirements; and other infrastructure—power (UPS), racks, cabling.
• Guide and contribute to the design coordination and development solutions working with multiple parties both internally and externally.
• Contribute to the transfer of projects for implementation.
• Interact with colleagues to gain knowledge and to share ideas.

Qualifications

Experience

• Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology and/or Engineering.
• 7–10 years of experience in Information Technology, Air Transport, Telecom, or any other relevant industry in a technical pre‑sales role.
• Proven track record in producing, communicating and documenting successful technical customer solutions.
• Proven track record in managing solution proposals, costing, and customer presentation with great level of detail.
• Expert in network design (WAN/Campus LAN, Cisco SDA, WLC, ISE, ACI, Nexus or similar technologies).
• Solid experience in designing compute, storage, and networking solutions in all deployment scenarios—on premise, virtualized environment, private cloud, public cloud, or a mix.
• Solid experience in security: IPSEC, access‑lists, NAT, firewalls.
• Understanding of cloud connectivity such as Azure ExpressRoute, AWS Direct Connect.
• Understanding of cloud security such as Zscaler, Cisco umbrella.
• Understanding of systems monitoring—network monitoring, security monitoring (SIEM), etc.
• Understanding of Versa (or Cisco) SD‑WAN architecture, Salesforce and ServiceNow.
• Adept at drawing technical diagrams—good knowledge of Visio, competence in Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with network design and standard vendor products.
• Experience with server sizing (virtualized environment and cloud) and software licensing.
• Commercial acumen.
