Job summary

UST is seeking an API Automation Tester to design, develop, and maintain Java-based automation frameworks using Rest Assured within an Agile setting. The role requires hands-on API testing expertise, strong Core Java knowledge, and experience building scalable automation for microservices.

Ideal candidates will contribute to test plans, strategies, and cases, and actively participate in Agile ceremonies while ensuring high-quality, maintenable code and end-to-end coverage.

Qualifications

• Experience in API testing and Java-based automation.
• Hands-on experience with Rest Assured or similar tooling.
• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies and test planning.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks using Java and Rest Assured.
• Exposure to Microservices architecture.
• Create and maintain test plans, strategies, and cases.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Identify, log, and track defects and drive resolution with development teams.
• Ensure end-to-end test coverage for critical business workflows.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline integration for automation execution.
• SDET approach may include functional testing as needed.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a skilled QA Automation Engineer (SDET) with strong experience in Java-based automation frameworks. The ideal candidate should have hands‑on expertise in Rest Assured, a solid understanding of Agile methodologies, test planning, and quality assurance processes. The candidate must possess strong Core Java knowledge, excellent coding and problem-solving skills, and the ability to solve complex programming challenges while writing optimized and maintainable code.

What You Need

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain automation frameworks using Java and Rest Assured
• Candidate should have exposure to Microservices architecture.
• Exposure to Queue systems Create and maintain test plans, test strategies, and test cases
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies Collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA teams to ensure quality deliverables Identify, log, and track defects, and work closely with development teams for resolution
• Ensure end-to-end test coverage for critical business workflows
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline integration for automation execution SDET APPROACH - Candidate should be flexible to do functional testing too.
