Job summary

Roboyo Group in Hyderabad, India, is seeking an experienced HR Lead to own payroll and employee relations for our India workforce, partnering with employees, managers and leadership to keep people practices fair, compliant and genuinely useful. You will be the subject matter expert on payroll support, working closely with our payroll vendor, advising managers on performance conversations and governance.

Qualifications

• 8-12+ years of HR generalist or HR manager experience.
• Hands-on experience with payroll administration and working with an external payroll provider.
• Deep HR expertise and able to move confidently between compliance, day-to-day operations and sensitive people matters.
• Prior experience in startups, consulting or professional services environment is highly desirable.
• Prior experience working in international teams and with senior stakeholders is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Own the relationship with payroll provider; prepare inputs, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely payroll processing.
• Be the go-to person for employees on payslips and take-home reconciliation.
• Monitor India's Labour Codes implications and translate changes into policy and communication.
• Advise and coach managers on employee relations matters including performance conversations, PIPs, grievances and disciplinary processes.
• Own the regional performance review process from communication to completion and follow-up.
• Be the trusted advisor to leadership, proposing practical improvements.
• Bridge employees and leadership, ensuring voices are heard while business needs stay front and center.
• End-to-end onboarding/offboarding and people engagement initiatives; contribute to HR policy reviews and cross-regional projects.

About the Role

We're looking for an HR Lead with relevant expertise in India payroll and employee relations to join our HR team in Hyderabad.

You will be the senior HR presence for our India team, partnering with employees, managers and leadership to keep people practices fair, compliant and genuinely useful. You will also be the subject matter expert on payroll support for our India workforce , working closely with our payroll vendor.

What You'll Be Responsible for

• Own the relationship with ADP: prepare accurate payroll inputs, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and ensure payroll is processed correctly and on time every month
• Be the go-to person for employees on pay slips and take-home reconciliation
• Monitor developments under India’s new Labour Codes, assess their impact on the business, and turn regulatory change into practical action, policy updates and clear communication to employees
• Advise and coach managers and employees on employee relations matters, including performance conversations, PIPs, grievances and disciplinary processes, ensuring consistency and fairness
• Own the regional performance review process, from communication through to completion and follow-up
• Be the go-to person employees trust with their questions and challenges and solve their queries across policies, processes and benefits
• Act as a trusted advisor to the leadership team, bringing insight and proposing practical improvements
• Bridge employees and leadership, making sure voices are heard while keeping business needs front of mind

Other Tasks You Will Support:

• End-to-end onboarding and offboarding, so every joiner and leaver has a smooth, professional experience
• People engagement initiatives and pulse surveys, including turning results into action
• Contribute to HR policy reviews and ensure they stay current and compliant
• Partner with the global HR team on cross-regional projects and initiatives

What You Bring

• 8-12+ years of HR generalist or HR manager experience
• Hands-on experience with payroll administration and working with an external payroll provider
• Deep HR expertise and able to move confidently between compliance, day-to-day operations and sensitive people matters.
• Ability to work towards company priorities and keep efforts aligned with business goals.
• A process improvement mindset, able to look for ways to make things work better, not just keep them running
• Proactive self-starter who is comfortable leading new projects and enjoys coaching and developing junior team members, helping them build their skills and confidence over time.
• Prior experience in startups, consulting or professional services environment is highly desirable
• Prior experience working in international teams and with senior stakeholders is highly desirable
