Job summary

VME Vhire Solutions in Kerala, India seeks an experienced data migration engineer to design and build ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL Server (T-SQL) and cloud platforms. You will optimize stored procedures, implement validation scripts, and collaborate with engineers, analysts, and QA to deliver reliable migrations and cutover plans.

• Strong hands-on expertise in SQL Server (T-SQL) and relational database design.
• Experience in data migration and conversion projects.
• Design and build ETL/ELT pipelines following Architect mappings.
• Knowledge of data mapping and source-to-target transformation logic.
• Experience with large dataset reconciliation techniques.
• Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and QA on conversion scope and cutover.
• Write and optimize SQL Server stored procedures, indexes, and queries for high-volume batch processing.
• Proficiency with SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or equivalent with scripting (PowerShell/Python).
• Data quality, de-duplication, cleansing, and validation practices.
• Cloud data platforms (Azure SQL, Azure Synapse, or AWS RDS/Redshift) and hybrid migrations.
• Awareness of data security and compliance during migration (encryption, access controls).
• Ability to rollback, dry-run, and phased cutover activities under guidance.
• Maintain data lineage, mapping docs, and audit trails for validation and sign-offs.
• Debugging and troubleshooting for large batch conversion jobs.
• Unit/integration tests and validation scripts for data reconciliation.
• Version-controlled DB changes (Flyway, Liquibase) and CI/CD for deployments.

following the mapping and transformation logic defined by the Architect.

• Good working knowledge of data mapping, source-to-target transformation logic, and

reconciliation techniques for large datasets.

• Collaborate with application engineers, business analysts, and QA teams to implement

conversion scope and cutover plans.

• Hands-on experience writing and optimizing SQL Server stored procedures, indexes, and

queries for high-volume batch processing.

• Proficiency with ETL tooling such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or equivalent, along with

scripting (PowerShell/Python) for data validation and automation.

• Good understanding of data quality, de-duplication, cleansing, and validation techniques.
• Working knowledge of cloud data platforms (Azure SQL, Azure Synapse, or AWS RDS/Redshift)

and hybrid on-prem-to-cloud migration patterns.

• Awareness of data security and compliance considerations during migration, including

encryption at rest/in transit and access controls.

• Ability to execute rollback, dry-run, and phased/parallel-run cutover activities under the

guidance of the Architect.

• Ability to maintain data lineage, mapping documentation, and audit trails for validation and

sign-off purposes.

• Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, with experience resolving issues in large batch

conversion jobs.

• Proficiency in writing unit/integration tests and validation scripts for data reconciliation (row

counts, checksums, referential integrity).

• Experience with version-controlled database change management (Flyway, Liquibase, or

equivalent) and CI/CD for database deployments.
