Job summary

GE Vernova Grid Automation is seeking a GA GECC Lead Protection and Control (CCS) Engineer to drive CCS engineering activities for complex projects from design through commissioning.

The role requires 8+ years in protection and electrical design, strong knowledge of protection relays, IEDs, and network studies, plus travel to project sites worldwide. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are essential to support site engineers and project teams.

Qualifications

• Educational background: B.E or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience: 8+ years in protection and electrical design engineering.
• Knowledge of protection functions, electrical schemes, and cubicle design.
• Experience in designing and configuring protection relays and network studies.
• Willingness to travel globally.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Technical Projects: Drive technical project activities, lead customer kick-off meetings, and ensure successful project execution from design to commissioning.
• Customer and Project Management: Participate in project risk reviews, manage project budgets in term of man-days allocated to the engineering tasks, and provide regular progress updates.
• Design and Documentation: Analyse customer specifications, write project technical documentation, and validate technical solutions with customers.
• Technical Oversight: Specify software and IEDs, manage technical execution planning, and ensure adherence to GE Vernova safety standards.
• Issue Resolution: Address technical deviations, manage fault reports, and support site engineers remotely or on-site.
• Testing and Commissioning: Lead Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests, and coordinate with commissioning teams for major site milestones.
• Training and Support: Provide project-specific training to customers, support tendering and commercial teams, and ensure customer satisfaction through professional project execution.

Job Description Summary GA GECC Lead Protection and Control (CCS) Engineer will execute Conventional Control System (CCS) engineering activities considering the quality/Cost/time for the project assigned. This role involves the execution of project design activities in line with the Engineering Process. Monitoring and controlling of project design budget, implementing design change process, supervising, and coordinating all engineering activities required to execute the project, whether done in house or by suppliers/subcontractors, and ensuring the compliance to project technical specification in line with defined scope. The successful candidate will be responsible for the performance of CCS engineering activities of the project. The successful candidate will coordinate with cross functional teams, customers, and suppliers to ensure timely and efficient design delivery.

Essential Qualifications

• Educational Background: B.E or Btech in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience: Over 8 years of protection and electrical design engineering-related experience.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of protection functions, electrical scheme, and cubicle design.
• Design Expertise: Proficient in designing and configuring protection relays and network studies.
• GE Substation Automation Solutions: Preferred candidates will have proven knowledge in this area.
• Travel: Ability to travel globally.
• Desired Characteristics: In-depth knowledge of automation electrical scheme, detailed design of electrical protection relays (LV, MV & HV), and network studies.
• Interpersonal and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Independent and Flexible: Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment with a flexible approach to working hours.
• Communication and Teamwork: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to cooperate across departments.
