Job summary

Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking a Senior Engineer to drive Linux-based automotive platform enablement across customer programs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to diagnose kernel issues, upgrade Linux kernel components, and tailor LV builds for headless environments.

The role requires strong C/C++, Python skills, knowledge of Yocto or Bazel build systems, and hands-on debugging with GDB/JTAG in virtualized setups. Bengaluru-based, full-time position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science or related field with 4+ years of software engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional teams to support Linux based automotive platform in virtualized environments and own Linux Vehicle platform enablement across customer programs.
• Perform system level analysis of Linux/Kernel issues and collaborate with Architecture, Design, Performance, Power/Thermal and software teams to reach optimal system level.
• Integrate and maintain (upgrade) Linux kernel and kernel platform components.
• Work with diff Kernel build strategies (Yocto-based and Bazel-based flows), kernel configuration, and version alignment.
• Demonstrate solid understanding of Kernel bring-up, boot validation, and early boot debugging in stand-alone and virtualized environments.
• Develop experience of Device Drivers or Services/Application in Linux platform, Kernel, features required for automotive virtualization use-cases.

Requirements

Atleast 6 + years of experience in below areas.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• 2+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
• Ablity to customize LV builds for headless version , Security related distros.
• Should be able to collaborate with global platform, kernel, and virtualization teams to deliver stable releases.
• Driving technical discussions, design reviews, and onboarding/ramp‑up activities for Kernel topics.
• Operating systems concepts - scheduling, memory management and device drivers
• Using debug tools like GDB ,JTAG debugger, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers.
• 6+ years experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Python, etc.
