Job Overview

With the advance of sensor technologies, QUALCOMM is looking for ambitious, bright, and innovative embedded software engineers who are interested in bringing the exciting sensors technology to the different verticals that are emerging. You will be responsible for the design, development, integration, and test of real‑time embedded sensors software from a High Level Operating Systems (HLOS) perspective within a very dynamic group setting. You will also work with a cross‑functional team of dedicated engineers to assist in the exciting effort of commercializing sensors in various kinds of commercial devices.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, integrate, and test real‑time embedded sensors software from the HLOS perspective; collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to commercialize sensor technology in consumer devices.

Minimum Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with internal teams and third parties; capability to guide a group of 5–8 engineers.
• Extensive experience in object‑oriented software principles and in the design and development of middleware frameworks for embedded platforms.
• Experience in Ubuntu and Debian environments is a plus.
• Experience in Android and Yocto environments, with end‑to‑end feature development and debugging.
• 10+ years of embedded software development in C, C++, Android Java in Android mobile environments.
• Good to have experience in open‑source development projects.
• Debugging skills around Android / Yocto environments are required.
• 2+ years of academic or work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of software engineering or related work experience; OR Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of software engineering or related work experience; OR Ph.D. in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of software engineering or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering or Computer Science Engineering.
• Experience in open‑source development projects.
• Strong debugging skills in Android and Yocto environments.

Education Requirements

• B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in relevant disciplines.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years of software engineering experience.
• Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 2+ years of software engineering experience.
