Job summary

Nutanix seeks a Lead Mechanical Engineer to drive specification, design and testing for LV protection systems, with focus on ACB products. You will guide complex PreLaunch/ProLaunch projects and mentor the Pune team in GD&T, tolerances and manufacturing considerations.

The role requires hands-on experience withCreo, SAP, Enovia, and strong knowledge of UL/IEC standards, with a system-level design mindset and collaboration across engineering and manufacturing functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8–12 years of experience in low voltage product development, preferably Air Circuit Breaker.
• Experience leading a team through product development stages.

What you’ll do:

Lead Mechanical Engineer to lead the specification, design, implementation, testing, for Eaton’s Air Circuit Breaker products. We are looking for motivated professionals with strong skills in Medium voltage products, 3DCreo, six sigma certified who will drive engineering excellence and leverage Analysis first approach. He should lead efforts in complex PreLaunch and ProLaunch projects. He should also design cost-effective and reliable solutions. Success in this position requires the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment, strong motivation for pursuing project objectives and the ability to learn new techniques and development processes. We are looking for candidates who are able to see the bigger picture; strength in a system-level viewpoint is a must. Problem solvers who are excited about learning new technologies, Understand the xRL levels and develop actions to increase maturity, Guide and mentor Pune ACB team for concept, detailed design and industrialization activities.

• Lead design & development of Low voltage protection system/ sub-system as per marketing requirements
• Complete system/ sub-system component sizing, modeling and simulation to meet customer requirements and UL/IEC standards, especially with short Curciut di-electric, thermal and structural requirements
• Design Air Circuit brekar sub sytems such as Current path, Mechanism, Housing, Arc chmaber etc.
• Develop innovative solutions to minimize iterations and quick prototyping
• Collaborate with SCM to develop ecosystem in India for prototype and testing capabilities
• Research, review, and implement best-practices, new and emerging technologies, and design patterns to new and existing development.
• Maintain and enhance technical proficiency in mechanical engineering related development environments, processes, and tools.
• Plan and manage development work to achieve on-time delivery of NPD, features and enhancements.
• Coordinate and collaborate with product owners and systems, Design, simulation, Reliability, Marketing, and manufacturing development teams to produce engineering designs and specifications for new features and enhancements.
• Identify, communicate, and mitigate risks as they arise during development.
• Mentor and coach less experienced members of the team in all aspects of GD&T, Tolerance stack up, manufacturing, assembly etc.
• Generate ideas and innovative solutions which will provide competitive edge to business products.
• Think creatively and come out with new proposals and present them to stakeholders.
• Develop design guidelines, best practices and lessons learnt documents and shares with peers and team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in engineering in Mechanical
• 8-12 years
• Minimum of 8+ of experience in Low voltage product development, mainlyin Air Circuit Breaker experience is preferred

Skills:

• Experience leading a team through all stages of the product development cycle
• Experience in short circuit, temperature rise, Dielectric in accordance with UL/IEC standards
• Hands on experience in product development leveraging DfX methodology
• Engineering technical expertise to solve problems and make design recommendations
• Proficient in Inventor and 3D modelling - Creo, SAP, Enovia
• Knowledge in Agile ProLaunch and PreLaunch processes
• Expertise on identifying technical risks and implementing proactive mitigation plans
• Experience in test object requirements, plan for assembly and finalize test parameters & instrumentation
• Knowledge of power systems, underground protection, loadbreak & deadbreak connectors

Desired:

• Sound technical knowledge in Electrical products like LV Circuit Breaker, Switchgear, Load break switch, controls etc.
• Thorough understanding of UL/IEC standards, 3D modelling in Creo & SAP knowledge,
• Extensive experience with product design, prototyping, testing, agile methodologies
• Sound technical knowledge on manufacturing processes such as Injection molding, Casting , Sheetmetal , palstic and metal extrusion etc
