Job summary

Jacobs is hiring an experienced Design Engineer for HVAC design, with emphasis on pharma, FMCG and microelectronics projects. You will perform heat load calculations, zoning and AHU design, and prepare BMS logic diagrams and P&ID/AF&ID sheets.

Strong communication skills, leadership in inter-discipline coordination, and client relationship management are essential as you work across projects in a hybrid environment with Jacobs offices and remote locations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years HVAC design experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC design for pharma, FMCG and microelectronics projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform heat load calculations in Excel and Trace; create area classifications, pressure zoning and AHU zoning.
• Prepare and check BMS logic diagrams, P&ID and AF&ID sheets.
• Lead inter-discipline coordination and client meetings; document meeting notes.

• The Design Engineer is assigned to a project as a key member of the HVAC design team who will be doing engineering activities to carry out HVAC design work based on standard company procedure / other procedures
• He is also responsible for ensuring that the Group’s technical policies, are followed, considering any special contractual requirements.
• Timely completion of design and engineering deliverables.
• Job responsibilities include Heat load calculation in excel and Trace, Area Classification, Pressure Zoning and AHU Zoning, HVAC Room Book (Summary of Heat load & Design parameters), Reheating capacities, Calculations of Exfiltration and Infiltration air, Preparation of Air Flow Diagrams, Duct, and piping pressure drop calculations and Ducting Quantity, Pump Head calculation.
• Preparation and Checking of BMS logic Diagrams, Creating P&ID, and AF&ID sheets
• Leading Inter discipline coordination & Client Meetings and preparation of meeting notes.
• Maintaining Hold List / Comments Logs & CRS / Assumption List time to time for each project.
• Should have very strong communication skills.
• Develop working relationships across various disciplines & adherence to Dept. /Discipline Working Instructions and Quality Systems.
• Working within company budgets.
• Monitor & check, that the work and progress is in-compliance with the project requirements and schedule.
• Client relationship management. Meet client expectations and maintain long-term relationship with client. Attend to client’s feedback and any complaints.
• Preparation of Audit Documents.

Here’s what you'll need

A degree in Mechanical Engineering Discipline with minimum 10 years of experience in HVAC designing field. Candidate should possess knowledge in carrying out basic and detailed engineering work. Candidate should have technical & working knowledge of HVAC designing for pharma industry, FMCG & Microelectronics projects.
