Job summary

SYSTRA India invites an experienced structural engineer to join our design team focusing on metro, highways and water projects. You will develop underground structural designs with detailed calculations, validate models and ensure code-compliant solutions from concept through to detailed design.

The role requires 4+ years in underground structures, proficiency with STAAD.Pro, WALLAP, PLAXIS, AutoCAD, and strong client coordination. Delhi-based, on-site work with international project exposure.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in structural design for underground or metro projects.
• Proficient in Indian/International codes and standards.
• Strong drawing, calculation, and design validation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and analyze structural designs for underground constructions with load and stability calculations.
• Perform structural modeling using STAAD.Pro, WALLAP, PLAXIS, and AutoCAD.
• Assess feasibility and constructability of designs for site execution.
• Coordinate with clients, addressing technical queries and incorporating requirements.
• Prepare design drawings, reinforcement detailing, and calculations from concept to detailed design.
• Ensure designs conform to Indian and international codes and standards.
• Assist in BOQ preparation and technical specifications for tenders.
• Review drawings and reports to ensure accuracy and client alignment.
• Adhere to schedules and deliver high-quality outputs on time.

Context

Systra India's design business line is the leading design team for metros, highways, special bridges, Urban Planning and water projects in India. The team has designed over 900 kms of viaduct & Bridges along with 43 kms of tunnels and 82 underground stations, 345 Elevated & at-grade Stations, 19 Depots besides 300 plus stations being designed currently. The team has also completed 3,165 km of highways detail design projects and 22,506 km of design/ feasibility projects. The team has also worked on detailed design for Drainage and Utilities, design of WTP and STP etc.

We are also very proud to have designed the first monopile in India for the Mumbai Coastal Road project. We have the distinction of designing the fastest implemented metro project in the country with Lucknow and now have broken the record in Kanpur Metro. Apart from Indian projects the team also provides design services to projects as far as Philippines in the east to Columbia in the West.

We are also conversant with BIM (Building Information Modelling) which enhances all stages of the infrastructure life cycle, from design to construction and maintenance, which is why we integrate it into our projects and offer it to our clients. Missions/Main Duties

• Develop and analyze structural designs for underground structures, including detailed calculations for load distribution, stress analysis, and overall stability to ensure structural safety.
• Perform structural modeling and analysis using advanced software such as STAAD.Pro, WALLAP, PLAXIS, and AutoCAD.
• Evaluate the practicality and constructability of proposed designs, ensuring feasibility of execution at site.
• Manage and coordinate with clients effectively, addressing technical queries and incorporating requirements into the design.
• Prepare structural drawings, reinforcement detailing, and comprehensive design calculations from the conceptual stage through detailed design, in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Ensure all designs conform to relevant Indian and international codes and standards.
• Assist in the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and technical specifications for tendering purposes.
• Oversee quality assurance of drawings, reports, and calculation deliverables to ensure accuracy and alignment with client expectations.
• Ensure adherence to design standards, project schedules, and timely delivery of high-quality outputs.

Profile/Skills

• 4+ years of Experience.
• Knowledge of Indian/International codes and standards.
