Job summary

Carrier seeks an experienced ECAD Librarian to own and govern the enterprise ECAD component library within Altium Designer. You will create, validate, and maintain schematic symbols, PCB footprints, 3D models, and managed components while ensuring IPC and internal standards.

Collaborate with global engineering teams to drive library standardization across business units, manage NCR workflows, and ensure timely releases with proper metadata, naming conventions, and version control.

Qualifications

• Requires advanced knowledge obtained through a university degree and practical experience.
• Practical knowledge of Carrier programs or systems and ability to enhance daily work.
• University Degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years.

Responsibilities

• Library Creation & Maintenance: create and maintain schematic symbols, PCB footprints, 3D models, and managed components in Altium Designer.
• Component Lifecycle Management: manage component requests, review library content to avoid duplication, maintain lifecycle status and version control.
• Library Governance & Quality: establish governance processes, perform quality reviews, ensure data consistency and traceability.
• Migration & Consolidation: support migration from legacy ECAD platforms, validate converted items; participate in enterprise-wide consolidation.
• Engineering Support: partner with design engineers and PCB designers; provide guidance on library usage and component selection; support urgent requests and training.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly organized ECAD Librarian to own and manage the enterprise ECAD component library within Altium Designer. The role will be responsible for creating, validating, maintaining, and governing schematic symbols, PCB footprints, 3D models, and managed components while ensuring compliance with company standards, IPC guidelines, and design governance processes. The ECAD Librarian will play a critical role in supporting global engineering teams by providing high-quality reusable design assets and driving library standardization across multiple business units and product lines.

Key Responsibilities

• Library Creation & Maintenance
• Create and maintain schematic symbols, PCB footprints, 3D models, and managed components in Altium Designer.
