Job summary

Jacobs in India is seeking a senior Civil Engineer with 12+ years of experience to design site infrastructure for pharmaceutical and biotech facilities. You will lead civil design for industrial plants and coordinate across disciplines to ensure interface integrity.

This role emphasizes quality documentation, vendor bid reviews, and BOQ/MTO preparation, while fostering collaboration and skill development within the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 12+ years of experience in civil/site infrastructure design.
• Experience with pharmaceutical/Life Science facility layouts.

Responsibilities

• Design site infrastructure: drainage, roads grading and building plumbing.
• Technical knowledge of site infra works, drainage, utilities, and basic water treatment.
• Prepare and approve project documentation per group instructions.
• Review vendor bids for technical acceptability; prepare BOQs/MTO.
• Provide guidance to other design groups and ensure proper interfaces.

Your impact

Job Summary

• Designing of Site Infra / Drainage / Road & grading / Building Plumbing Services
• Technical skills on Site infra works, site grading, rain and storm drainage, underground utilities (wet &dry), plumbing services and basic knowledge of sewage treatment plant & water treatment plant.
• Ensure all documentation within the scope of his responsibility is prepared, checked, reviewed, and approved in accordance with the Group working Instructions for the Project.
• Review all vendor bids and documentation for technical acceptability. Preparation of BOQs/MTO.
• Render technical assistance to other design groups as necessary including review of relevant drawings of other groups for adequate and appropriate interface.

Technical and speciality skills

• Degree in Civil Engineering
• Sound knowledge and strong experience of pharmaceutical / Life Science /Biotech facility layout and process requirement.
• Detail Design Engineering and construction experience with Consultancy Organization / Contractors.
• Detail Civil engineering design for Industrial plants like Chemical, Petrochemicals, Fertilizers, Pharmaceuticals, Food etc including Power plant commercial / residential projects

• Evaluates competence of staff for their current roles and assesses potential for increased responsibility
• Develop working relationships across various disciplines
• Strong communications skills.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Extensive experience to Lead team of Engineers & Designers.
• Ensures team members produce quality work in the project and continually improve their skills thus helping the growth of the company.
