Responsibilities include monitoring, backups, incident response, and collaboration with support teams to ensure high availability and data integrity across NoSQL environments.

Qualifications

• Cassandra or MongoDB DBA expertise is required.
• Experience with cluster planning, sizing, and maintenance.
• Ability to monitor performance and resolve incidents promptly.

Responsibilities

• Plan Cassandra cluster sizing and hardware requirements based on data size and transaction volume.
• Create, install, and configure a Cassandra cluster; manage backups and restore procedures.
• Monitor cluster availability and performance using tools like OpsCenter/DevCenter.
• Perform Cassandra data modeling, NoSQL architecture, and keyspace/table/index management.
• Administer the cluster and support JVM tuning, caches, and compaction.
• Manage MongoDB installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
• Identify and resolve slow queries, resource contention, and replication issues.
• Set up monitoring/alerts for database health and lead incident response.
• Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.

Overview

Cassandra and Mongodb DBA skill set required. Either can be Primary skill

Responsibilities

Cassandra DBA

• Cassandra cluster planning which includes Data sizing estimation, and identify hardware requirements based on the estimated data size and transaction volume.
• Create, install, and configure a Cassandra cluster
• Use tools to monitor cluster availability and performance
• Export data into different data formats
• Use primary index and secondary indexes correctly to perform queries on data
• Backup and restore data to secure the system in the event of failure
• Tune the performance of Java Virtual Machine (JVM), caches, and compaction
• Cassandra Data Modelling, NoSQL Architecture, Keyspace, Table, Index creation, User creation & access administration.
• Administration, Maintenance and supporting of the cluster using Opscenter, Devcenter, Linux, Spark
• CQL Queries to support Integration with Cassandra Cluster
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Respond to alerts and incidents promptly to minimize service disruptions.
• Collaborate with Level 1 and Level 2 support and other teams to address escalated incidents.

MongoDB

• Possess in-depth knowledge of MongoDB architecture, installation, and administration.
• Manage MongoDB, including installation, configuration, and performance tuning.
• Identify and resolve complex performance bottlenecks, slow queries, and resource contention issues in MongoDB.
• Set up proactive monitoring and alerting for database health and performance issues.
• Perform regular backups and test recovery procedures to ensure data recoverability.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
• Respond to alerts and incidents promptly to minimize service disruptions.
• Collaborate with Level 1 and Level 2 support and other teams to address escalated incidents.
• Troubleshooting replication issue and fixing instance recovery issue.
