Job summary

Jaguar Land Rover India seeks an impactful Lead for the BMS Software team to steer design, implementation, and verification of Battery Management systems for BEV/xHEV platforms. You will define and drive model-based development using MATLAB/Simulink, ensure ASPICE and ISO 26262 compliance, and mentor engineers through complex deliveries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 9+ years in automotive software delivery, especially BMS SW.
• Expert authority in BMS application software and high-integrity BEV/xHEV architectures.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink and auto-code generation for safety-critical platforms.
• Hands-on ASPICE-compliant V-cycle development and ISO 26262 up to ASIL D.

We are now seeking an impactful Lead for BMS Software team.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

• Lead a team to deliver control system design, requirements, models & test cases for certain Battery Management functions within Energy Platform Controls.
• Own clarity, completeness, traceability of L4, L5 requirements, and alignment with system and programme intent.
• Ensure BMS application software implementation is delivered in line with JLR software quality processes.
• Own verification strategy, ensuring requirements coverage, traceability and test execution evidence.
• Drive robust issue resolution, employing complex problem solving techniques where appropriate.
• Ensure the team plan effectively & manage delivery to meet programme deadlines. Align on dependencies & activity plans with other teams as required to achieve feature / function integration.
• Monitor programme delivery KPIs on a weekly basis.
• Technically Accountable Person for your group of functions.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance. Identify, declare & manage technical & delivery risks, escalating where appropriate.
• Develop your team, using Creators’ Conversations to understand & enable appropriate growth opportunities for individuals.
• Identify skills / resource gaps & recommend resolution actions to your senior manager.
• Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree with 9+ yrs of industry hands-on experience in automotive software delivery especially BMS SW.
• Expert authority in BMS application software, SoX algorithms, cell balancing strategies & prognostics for high-integrity BEV/xHEV architectures.
• Deep mastery of model-based design (MBD) using MATLAB/Simulink and auto-code generation for high-safety electrification platforms.
• Hands-on proficiency in ASPICE-compliant V-cycle software development and ISO 26262 functional safety implementation (up to ASIL D).
• Strong technical background in software calibration, diagnostics, and testing using CANape, INCA, Git, Python, and C/C++.
• Proven track record in technical program management, leading engineering teams through the full lifecycle of complex software and calibration deliveries under pressure.
• Rigorous, structured problem-solving approach to resolve complex technical challenges while driving continuous process improvement.
• Experienced in building, managing, and aligning cross-functional internal and external relationships across complex global stakeholder environments.
• Proven ability to report project status robustly, manage dependencies, and ensure strict adherence to quality standards and schedule milestones.
