Job summary

CPP Investments in Mumbai, India seeks a Lead Software Engineer to guide end-to-end technology solutions, drive engineering excellence, and mentor teams in a fast-moving Agile environment.

You will design and maintain enterprise apps using Java, Spring Boot, Angular and AWS, champion best practices, and leverage Gen AI tools to boost developer productivity. Strong communication and collaboration with IT and business partners are essential.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of relevant experience in software engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular and AWS Cloud.
• Proven ability to write clean, maintainable, secure code and to follow best practices and architectural guidelines.
• Experience leveraging Gen AI throughout the SDLC using AI tools to improve developer productivity.

The Role

As a Lead Software Engineer, you will guide and participate in building and supporting value-add technology solutions and products end-to-end. You will also demonstrate leadership and drive engineering excellence within your team and influence the same across the Technology & Data department.

Core Accountabilities

• Conceptualize, design, build, test and support technology solutions end-to-end, to enable complex business capabilities, in an Agile environment that includes business and T&D partner teams.
• Drive engineering excellence and continuous improvement within the team and influence similar improvements across teams, providing technical leadership and coaching.
• Demonstrate and apply advanced understanding of technical landscape and the business capabilities it supports to guide others.
• Foster and enable agility and innovation through experimentation and early feedback ensuring responsiveness to evolving business needs.
• Succinctly frame problems, engage appropriately with colleagues to think deeply about broad problems and gain buy-in on well-reasoned recommendations.
• Facilitate root-cause-analysis involving multiple teams.
• Adhere to Agile SDLC and execute related duties as required.
• Foster collaboration and mentorship promoting a culture of feedback, learning and professional growth.
• Maintain strong relationships with business partners, peer IT teams and vendor partners.

Core Qualifications (Education And Experience)

• Undergraduate degree in related fields (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science).
• 12+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular and AWS Cloud.
• Strong software engineering skills including microservices, version control (Git), testing methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and Agile delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable, well-documented, and secure code while adhering to coding standards, engineering best practices, and architectural guidelines.
• Experience leveraging Generative AI throughout the SDLC using tools such as GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex, or similar AI-assisted development platforms to improve developer productivity.
• Experience with EKS, Terraform, AWS services, Python, Kafka, Redis, ELK.
• Experience building Gen AI solutions using LLMs, AWS Bedrock, AgentCore, RAG, Agentic AI workflows.
