Job summary

LP1144 GE VERNOVA HYDRO POWER INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED seeks a Graduate Mechanical or Process Engineer with 8–10 years’ experience for basic and detail design activities on hydro power projects. You will prepare design memos, flow diagrams, P&ID work, and layouts while coordinating with vendors and internal clients to ensure timely, quality deliverables.

You will contribute to design reviews, apply EHS and quality standards, and support project delivery with strong documentation and communication

Qualifications

• Graduate Mechanical or Process engineer with 8–10 years' experience
• Strong client interaction and requirement gathering capability
• Experience with conceptual design, flow diagrams, P&ID, and detailed layouts

Responsibilities

• Prepare Basic engineering documents: design memorandum, flow diagram, sizing calculations and supplier specs for hydro plant systems (water, oil, air, utilities).
• Evaluate vendor offers and conduct technical meetings; post-order reviews and approvals of documents and drawings.
• Coordinate interfaces with internal clients and maintain records; support project reviews with technical inputs.
• Demonstrate strong English communication and apply engineering standards in layout & piping design.

Job Description Summary Job Description Purpose of the Job: Allotted work to be perform in define schedules and budgeted manhours. Active participation in basic design and detail design activities. Standardization and methodology aspects for mechanical engineering. Functional reporting to your Mechanical sub-COE leader and operationally to the System Integrator/ PEM. EHS: - Implementation EHS policy & procedures of GE for design aspect.

Candidate Requirements Responsibilities

Below activities shall be performed within stipulated time frame for basic & detail engineering. Preparation of Basic engineering document – design memorandum, Flow diagram, sizing calculation and suppler specification of water, oil, air and utility system, for Hydro Power Plant, as follow: EOT cranes and handling equipment, Cooling water system, Drainage and dewatering system, HVAC system, Fire Protection and Fire detection systems, Lubricating and insulating oil filtration and handling systems, Compressed air systems, Passenger Elevator, Workshop equipment. Evaluation of vendor offer, technical meeting with vendor, post order activity like Review and get approval of above system documents and drawings from client. Review of various interfaces with internal client for various inputs/interface requirement & keep the record. Good communication skill in English with written & verbal. Good Technical knowledge in Layout & piping. Contribute to the project reviews with technical inputs and strategies. Exposure to Engineering process & Quality standards. Experience and focus on project delivery. Technical and Risk management experience Contract Review & Analysis Co-ordinating during site Survey and Input collection for engineering. Supplier KOM & Follow-ups Expertise in basic and detail design engineering practices. Knowledge of AutoCAD, AFT software for pump head and pipe size selection.

Candidate Requirements Educational Requirements

Graduate Mechanical or Process engineer having minimum 8 to 10 years. Behavioral and Technical Skills / Competencies Should have good client interactions for gathering inputs or requirements for the project. Should have experience of working on design engineering operations involving Conceptual design, flow diagram and P&ID, layout of system and detail design, etc. Should have knowledge of preparing and review of detail working drawings. Preparing Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and Technical Specifications. Handling Enquiries and floating the Tender Documents. Evaluation of technical submittals by Vendor and approval on the same. Preparing BOQ for services related enquiries of hydro power plant and Cost Estimation of the Project. Should be able to work with more than one projects simultaneously. Should follow the company integrity program. Should have knowledge about various STD codes of Mechanical systems. Should have good knowledge about EHS/safety rules which shall be considered during layout engineering.
