Job summary

Cielo Talent is hiring for a senior performance engineering role with a GCC US-based retail client in Bengaluru. You will lead performance testing initiatives for large-scale ecommerce platforms, focusing on JVM tuning, GC optimization, and root-cause analysis.

The ideal candidate brings 12+ years in performance engineering, strong scripting skills, and hands-on experience with JMeter, LoadRunner, Dynatrace, AWS, Docker and Kubernetes. Excellent communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of dedicated experience in performance engineering and testing.
• Proven experience on large-scale, high-traffic retail e-commerce platforms.
• Expert-level proficiency with load-testing tools - JMeter, LoadRunner.
• Deep Java performance engineering, including JVM tuning, GC analysis and optimization, and heap memory analysis.
• Hands-on experience with Application Performance Management (Dynatrace) and code profilers.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, Java, or Groovy.
• Cloud platforms (AWS) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience tuning SQL and NoSQL databases (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Cassandra, Astra, PostgreSQL).
• Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

• 12+ years of dedicated experience in performance engineering and
  testing.
• Domain Knowledge: Proven experience working on large-scale, high-traffic retail e-
  commerce platforms.
• Performance Testing Tools: Expert-level proficiency with industry-standard load
  testing tools - JMeter, LoadRunner.
• Java Stack Performance Engineering: Deep expertise in core Java
  performance engineering, including JVM tuning (HotSpot, OpenJDK),
  Garbage Collection (GC) analysis and optimization, heap memory analysis
  (heap dumps, profilers), and concurrency/threading management (Java 8
  Java 21).
• APM & Profiling: Hands-on experience with Application Performance Management
  (APM tools - Dynatrace) and code profilers.
• Programming/Scripting: Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Java, or
  Groovy.
• Cloud & Infrastructure: Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS) and
  containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Databases: Experience with performance tuning of both SQL (Microsoft SQL and
  Oracle ) and NoSQL databases (Cassandra, Astra, PostgreSQL).
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven
  ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead projects, mentor engineers, and influence
  technical decisions.
