Job summary

TutorCloud is seeking a hands-on Lead Engineer (IC) to own the design and development of scalable, secure applications in Bengaluru. You will drive backend services using Python, FastAPI, and REST APIs, building resilient microservices and integrating AI features.

You will contribute to architecture decisions, deploy on Azure/AKS, and manage CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes. This is a high-impact IC role with end-to-end ownership.

Qualifications

• Hands-on backend design with Python, FastAPI, and REST APIs.
• Experience in microservices and system design for scalable apps.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Azure, AKS, and Azure DevOps.
• CI/CD automation using IaC and containerized deployments.
• Familiarity with AI/LLM integration and RAG tooling.

Role & Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services using Python, FastAPI, and REST APIs.
• Build scalable, secure, and resilient microservices-based applications.
• Contribute to system design, architecture decisions, and performance optimization.
• Develop and integrate frontend applications using React.
• Deploy and manage cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure and AKS.
• Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and manage Docker/Kubernetes deployments.
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and production troubleshooting.
• Integrate LLMs, RAG, and AI-enabled capabilities into applications.
• Ensure code quality, security, automated testing, and engineering best practices.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• Strong hands-on experience with Python, FastAPI, and REST API development.
• Experience with microservices architecture and system design.
• Practical experience with Microsoft Azure and AKS.
• Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Experience with application monitoring using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, or similar tools.
• Hands-on experience with React, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Exposure to AI/LLM integration, RAG, or AI-enabled application development.
• Experience building or maintaining SaaS or enterprise-scale applications.
• Knowledge of relational/NoSQL databases, API security, and automated testing.

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
