Job summary

Adani Group is seeking an experienced Lead EMS for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to design, develop, integrate, test, and commission advanced EMS solutions. You will optimize energy dispatch, renewable integration, and grid interaction while coordinating EMS-SCADA interfaces.

The role requires strong expertise in EMS architectures, energy optimization algorithms, and industry protocols (Modbus, IEC 61850, OPC-UA).

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Power Systems, or Energy Engineering.
• Relevant master's degree or equivalent experience in EMS/BESS domains preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead EMS architecture design for utility-scale and commercial BESS projects.
• Define EMS functional requirements, control philosophies, and operational strategies.
• Develop energy optimization algorithms for battery charging/discharging.
• Configure EMS applications for peak shaving, load shifting, energy arbitrage, and ancillary services.
• Integrate EMS with BMS, PCS, SCADA, and forecasting/renewable platforms.
• Ensure communication using Modbus, IEC 61850, OPC-UA, DNP3, and MQTT.
• Develop grid-support functionalities and dispatch scheduling.
• Prepare FAT, SAT, and commissioning procedures; support site commissioning.

Purpose/Objective

• Lead EMS is responsible for designing, developing, integrating, testing, and commissioning Energy Management System (EMS) solutions for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
• The role involves optimization of energy dispatch, renewable integration, grid interaction, demand response, forecasting, and EMS-SCADA coordination to ensure efficient plant operations.

Key Responsibilities of Role

• System Integration - Integrate EMS with: - Battery Management System (BMS) - Power Conversion System (PCS) - SCADA - Weather Forecasting Platforms - Renewable Energy Systems (Solar/Wind) - Ensure seamless communication using Modbus, IEC 61850, OPC-UA, DNP3, and MQTT protocols.
• Grid & Market Operations - Develop grid-support functionalities.
• - Implement frequency regulation and voltage support strategies.
• - Support energy market participation and dispatch scheduling.
• - Monitor renewable generation forecasts and battery operating strategies.
• Testing & Validation - Prepare EMS FAT, SAT, and Commissioning procedures.
• - Perform functional testing and troubleshooting.
• - Validate optimization algorithms and system performance.
• - Support site commissioning and performance guarantee tests.
